Guys,

I pulled the trigger this weekend. I appreciate the info I learned here ahead of time. I purchased from Long Beach Jeep out here in socal. They gave me the same price Don@Champion is offering for his new 08s on the forum with msrp of 47180.

These are my observations after 24 hours of ownership.

1. Fit and Finish is horrible on certain areas of the vehicle. You will see in my first photo that the tailpipes are horribly misaligned. I get a rattle from the rear and after inspecting the rear of the vehicle I found that some of the plastic in the rear wheel well is not even connected properly. I mean it is flat out missing fastners and has some fastners that you can pull out with no effort. Inside the verhicle the speakers covers on the top of the dash look they they were installed by a 12 year old. Do the workers that put these together even care anymore? Really depressing.

The one area of the vehicle that looks tight is the engine compartment.

2. Love the sound of the engine. I get a big smile every time I fire it up. That is the great thing about the remote start. You get to hear your car startup from the outside. Totaly *****in.

3. The technology in the vehicle will take me months to figure out. It will be the gift that keeps on giving. BTW, how accurate is the high beam sensing system? Does it really sense oncoming vehicles and drop you back to normal beams?

4. All that technology and no retractible side view mirrors? WTF?

5. I crawled under the thing and it was noce to see all the performance parts. Brembos, Dana, etc...

6. Specific to 08s. I love dark interior.

7. I noticed that it is really difficult to fit your hand between the seat and door to reach the seat adjustments.

I really love the srt vehicles. I think DC or whatever you call it these days got a bunch of things right with the one. I told my brother I was going to get one and he was like, why don't you buy a z06 that is a couple years old for that kind of money? Because I love that fact that this is such a unique vehicle. I don't want to be like every other JO out there with a corvette or a mustang.

I feel like I am at the begining of a long difficult relationship. There will be good times (a porsche kill) and there will be bad times ( @ the stealership service center), but the bottom line is that it will be exciting.

In parting I have a question for the forum. I think I am going to get the 7/70 extended warrany. I can just see the entire nav system going in 3.5 years. How much should I expect to pay?

Welcome to the forums!!

It looks like you got a reject! I would take it back to the dealer right away!! I have never seen tips so out of alignment. Maybe it was damaged and that's why the plastics were not properly installed?? Mine was PERFECT when I picked it up. Did the dealer skip the pre-delivery inspection?? I also noticed that it looks like the lower lip of the front bumper is all wavy. What's up with all that?

Maybe you should have bought from Don......

Nice work dude!!! Well done!!! And welcome to the forum.....the dealership oughtta be able to fix the exhaust in about no time flat. Just take it in. If that makes you weezy, take her to a reputable shop in town. It's a quick fix.

I thought that bow was part of the front design. I will have to take a look in the morning. BTW It is hard to register a new vehicle form out of state in CA. Thus not buying from Don.

I see. Damn emission laws! Keep us posted as to how the dealer takes care of the issues.

Those tailpipes are embarrassing. DCX and the dealership should be ashamed of themselves letting it leave like that. Anyways, congrats and welcome to the hood!

There are ZERO issues registering a new out of state vehicle in Ca.... as long as the vehicle coming in is Ca. or 50 state emmision certified an they all are.

thats looks nutty.

I believe fixing the tailpipes simply involves a little adjustment at the rear hanger.

the bumper is definitely NOT supposed to look like that. Make sure that there is nothing jutting out under there to cause it to bow. otherwise, it needs to be replaced.

as far as the warranty goes, I initially got mine but got a refund for it. I figured the stock warranty is enough for me. thats just how they get more money out of you up front

I though it needed to have 7500 miles on it to be registered in CA.

Yeah, the entire facia under the front bumper is jacked. No sign of damage, just looks like it was never fastened. Some how I just missed the tailpipes till I got it home.

That just says that a vehicle is new until it has 7500 miles on it.

If you are a California resident and acquire a new car, truck or motorcycle from another state, it must be certified to meet California smog laws in order to be registered here.

They are just saying that the new vehicle must meet California's new vehicle emission standards and that you cant drive a new car around and put miles on it to make it used and then bring it into Cali as a used vehicle registered under the stipulations of the used car emission standards.

Get a 13mm socket and go under the truck and adjust the tip out of whack. Takes less than5 minutes. Here is a pic of the bracket.

I have delivered quite a few to Cali, never any issues with registration. All SRT's have 50 State emissions. But that doesnt matter, CONGRATULATIONS!!!

As far as a Warranty. 7 year/70,000 miles Bumper to Bumper $100 deductible

$1850 If your dealer wont do it for that I will.

Hey Cold-

Its under 7500 mi to be considered new. It also says that you cant purchase the vehicle new, drive it over 7500 mi & try to pass it off as used for registration.

What other dealers did you try in the area? Im in San Pedro & trying to get my purchase plan together....

Thats the worst case ive seen so far of factory misalignment, its an easy fix just loosen the rear resonators and realign, the dealer should really do this.

Enjoy.
