: Stick with stock, or go with my aftermarket?
Tex_SRT8 10-05-2007, 03:03 PM Traded in my Yukon when I got the Jeep. Have a Pioneer Avic Z1 system with Kicker sub & amps/polk audio speakers.... Personally, I think the BA system kinda sucks, but probably cause my old setup rocked... I really enjoyed the Avic Z1, awesome nav and I was able to burn all my music to the hard drive.... I only had it in the Yukon for 3 months before I traded it in, so I'm really missing it but not looking forward to the time/money that install would cost... BTW my GC has the Nav already in it...
What would you do?

gculver 10-05-2007, 04:45 PM Hey, whatever floats your boat.....Horsepower & Torque is the music I like best :D GC
stevesvt 10-05-2007, 04:50 PM The fact that you already have some of the equipment makes it a no brainer as far as I'm concerned.
Definitely after market
DJ Red Barron 10-06-2007, 09:06 AM I had a Z1 in my TBSS. I actually left it in the SS when I sold it. But, I have to say, the MyGig is a sweet setup. It doesn't have as much HDD space as the Z1. But it does have a flash drive input and some other perks. So IMO, factory ain't bad at all.
**EDIT** I should probably read a person's sig to see what year GC is being discussed. Since yours is a non-MyGig unit, I would go Z1 all the way.
veyronSRT8@TTCreations 10-06-2007, 09:35 AM i did a majoy stereo install in mine. got the Z2 along with 4 12's, replaced the door spkrs with my boston Z6 6.5". driving them all with PPI power. woulda liked to do it myself, but time/ leisure time is now an issue. lol had to go back and redo a lot of what CAR TOYS did since they did a S**T job. aside from that aftermarket has been good to me. :D
johnny--2k 10-11-2007, 03:52 PM can the aftermarket units like the Z2 and such be used in conjunction with the factory camera?
Go~RillaWRX 10-16-2007, 11:27 AM ^good question!
veyronSRT8@TTCreations 10-16-2007, 12:12 PM the Z2 can be used with the factory camera, however you will lose the rear cam while driving option that the Z2 has unless you are using thier camera. has something to do with the type of camera/connection used. RGB vs. ??? i did forget what the clowns at CAR TOYS told me but it doesn't work while driving. the cam while backing up works fine...
veyronSRT8@TTCreations 10-16-2007, 12:16 PM was actually considering buying the pioneer camera and taking it apart, using the components and placing it in the factory position, but haven't made up my mind yet. honestly woud rrather drop that 350, or whatever it cost, on some other performance mods
mrfreeze 10-16-2007, 02:19 PM have any pics of your set-up veyron?
veyronSRT8@TTCreations 10-16-2007, 02:25 PM have any pics of your set-up veyron?
no pics yet, will see what i can do. got a avic z2, replaced the door speakers with some older 6.5 boston z6's, and lows are 4x12" older PPI pro's. powered by three older ppi amps. 2 pc2350's (bridged at 1400 watts) and a pc pro 2800 6x50 watts. kinda overboard, but it works. ;)
veyronSRT8@TTCreations 10-16-2007, 02:49 PM a pic to give ya an idea...kinda unbuttoned at the time, but it should work. ;) http://i21.tinypic.com/2i957bk.jpg
