I have a question for everyone...
With perpetual change and intense competition, and if the sport SUV segment/niche remains strong, do you think Jeep will stick the V10 in the GC in the future?
The Jeep is the first AWD SRT, so it is understandable why the V10 was not implemented right away.
What do you think…?

that sure would be nice, and it is certainly possible, unfortunately unlikely if I had to guess. :(
of course there are kits available for doing it yourself, I've seen pictures of the 8.1 in a Wrangler and a Dakota. very tempting!

Yesterdays news, too much weight.
The 6.1 has plenty of room, like in the challenger they'll bump it to 500hp 500tq respectively.

Heavy? Yes. Too heavy? I do not know.
If the Viper chasis can handle it, I would think the Jeep could as well. How much heavier is the 8.1 than the 6.1?

I guess it would really affect the agility and consumption of the car . I guess that the 8.3 v10 is a heavy engine so performance won't be another league . I also guess it would need a more heavy duty drivetrain which would increase even more weight ... Just my thoughts !
heavy?? the viper/srt-10 engine is all aluminum. the 6.1 has a cast iron block I bet the the weight difference isn't all that much.
My dream scenario would be for them to come up with a full sized SUV, sportier than the Commander (which I love) and throw the big dog in it.

since they cancelled the ram srt10 after a short 3 year run and probably lost their asses while doing so, my guess would be NO!

I thought it was around longer than that:confused: It has been cancelled?
But the Jeep is AWD, making it more practical than a 2WD truck.

I'm willing to bet the farm that there will never be a V-10 SRT Jeep. The Viper V-10 is basically an aluminum 360 small block with two extra holes. Consequently it is relatively light and narrow but much longer. The firewall would have to be moved back significantly to accomodate the V-10, no small task. They went around and around with this on the 300C forums when they were new. I measured and the V-10 without any accessories would barely fit in the the 300C engine bay. There was about a inch of clearance at the core support. Add a water pump, alternator, cooling system, etc. and it becomes apparent that there is not enough room. There are a lot less costly performance powerplant alternatives available with the V-8s.
And, yes, there was only a three year run on the Ram SRT-10s, '04 to '06.
