Just wanted to say hi and ask you guys a couple question. Me and the wife just bought GC (red) and after having it for two days I notice a whine noise on decel. The whine comes and goes at diff speeds. I'm wonder if this is normal but to me it sounds like the rear has a pinion whine. Does anyone else have this noise it's definilty coming from the rear end. Also over dips in the road or when taking off I hear a banging noise or pop from the back also. I know it's coming from the rear of the truck but I don't think it's a shock it sounds more like something may be loose. It doesn't do it all the time or I think I could of found it already. Thanks for any info.

My 1998 JGC 5.9 Limited had that, but my JGC SRT8 does not. I had that rear pinion whine for years, did not seem to cause any problem.

Thanks for the info. I will have the dealer look at it. I don't think it's normal some of the people on this board may not hear it I'm pretty anal.

my drive train makes all kinds of sounds I just chalk it up to the AWD system.

I have the same knock sound on acceleration...other threads people have said it might be the transfer case which supposedly has a TSB out for it or something along those lines. I'm taking mine in this week to have the dealer look at it...ill let you know how it goes.

I have a whine coming from the rear end as well that only seems to be present when accelerating. It's not the resonance that the TSB was attempting to be resolved, but just a high frequency humming when your foot is on the gas. I got used to it pretty fast since my dad's 03 Z06 has the exactly same whine and it seems just to be the nature of the high performance beasts.
