I've scoured around the net looking for a hack or trick to get the DVD player to play on the front screen while the Beast is in motion. I've heard about the park brake trick with the Wrangler's with MyGig but that obviously won't work.

I've heard that at the Dealership they can do something to the system to enable front seat video while in motion in locales where it's legal to do so. Unfortunately, that's not the case here and to drive somewhere that it IS the case, I'd be looking at a grossly long trip.

Anyone found anything? The other forums are sponsored by some vendor called Nav-something or other, but that seems to involve some kind of installation and may or may not gimp the Navigation because it tricks the vehicle into thinking it's in park.

The dealer can enable the front screen to play DVD while the vehicle is in park, not in motion. Apparently, there are some states that outlaw viewing a video while sitting still, which is ridiculous.

In CO, we do not have that law, so MyGig can play DVD while in park.
There was a Nav Hack for 07- and earlier models based on DVD drives.
No one, to my knowledge, has come out with a hack for the hard drive-based MyGig yet...IIRC

Yeah - here in Alberta we can have it playing in Park also. I don't know why it's so intriguing to me - I'll never use it while driving, it's just for the front passenger on the odd road trip.
