i posted this a while back and i'm curious if any more people have went from a 300srt8 to a jeep srt8? if so, are you happy with your decision? i'm stuck right now deciding between trading my 300c in for the jeep or upgrading to the 300 srt8.

i switched from a charger srt to the jeep srt. although the charger is a little more comfortable on the road at speed I am happy with the switch. the jeep is a little squirrely at speed, twitchy on bumps and rides more rough. the charger is much smoother at speed, the stereo is much better and is a more comfortable car. however, I needed the jeep for a bike rack and awd.

I'm fortunate to be able to have both. The 300 is an awesome car and makes a fantastic touring car with better mileage than I get with the Jeep. However, if I could only have one it would be the Jeep!

how much better is the mileage and why the jeep if you could only have one?

Two to three MPG, different final drive ratio & 2WD would be my guess.

They both will carry 4 people but the Jeep is more versatile with cargo etc. The 300 does have a handling advantage. Sure wish Hotchkis would come up with a suspension package ie; springs and swaybars for the Jeep.

I had the fortune of being able to drive a friend's Charger SRT for a few days. I tend to drive fairly conservative only getting on the throttle when needed. I noticed the computer say I was running at roughly 17 mpg. On my Jeep it says I am at 12.4 mpg. I think it is a little off, because my hand calculations for the two times I filled it up, put it closer to 14 mpg. Again, relatively conservative driving with the occassional throttle stomp. I hope this helps.

The jeep is a bit harder to drive like people have said (twitchy and squirlly). Also the transmission takes a little getting used to. For instance the gas pedal is like the clitoris of the vehicle - if u push on it just a little to hard the vehicle lurches away from u - it takes a little finese and time to know how to stimulate the throttle particularly at stop lights and coming out of corners. imho opinion makes it fun to drive and makes a great daily driver.

Too bad it's not attached to my Wife, she gives me a dirty look anytime I get on it.

My car (http://www.hotchkis.net/cgi-bin/EDCstore.pl?user_action=detail&catalogno=19101) was their test mule for the springs/bars for the 300C.
If you're interested, send me a PM and I'll put you in touch with the R&D guy I worked with. They're fairly local to you, in Santa Fe Springs, and often interested in new systems to build... you might be able to be a pioneer too! ;)

Contacted Hotchkis on 3-22-06. Got a response from a D. Oliver that they had no plans to create a suspension system for the Jeep SRT8!
