: Found and purchased a silver SRT8 yesterday

I found a loaded silver '06 on the showroom floor of a local dealer yesterday with 20 miles on the odo. I went ahead and got it at EP (about $5K off sticker) instead of waiting for "the other" dealer to order me one when they get an allocation (I've been waiting since Feb/Mar). I've only driven it about 50 miles so far, it's a hoot to drive, rides nicer then I thought it would, etc. I'm not going to drive it much until I get the clear film put on (hopefully this week) and I will be debadging, including the SRT badge on the rear. I don't have the SRT8 manual, Nav DVD, correct mats or bright pedals yet. They will be delivered to my house on Monday evening by the totally hot sales chick (yes, I have it in writing that they own me all of this plus one new wheel to replaced one of the fronts with a very small gouge in it).

I do have a few questions. I didn't want rear seat entertainment but got it. Should there be a set of headphones with this??? If yes, those are missing too. I haven't searched here yet but has anyone posted radar detector hard wiring instructions???

I need to get a bluetooth phone. I'm on Cingular. What phones do you guys like that work well with Uconnect??? I'm used to a basic rock solid Nokia phone and want would rather something very reliable over something that is cutting edge on features.

I'll take pics soon and post them.

I'm on Cingular and have a Motorola V551 which works great with Uconnect and is reasonably priced. You might have to extend your contract to get it real cheap (or maybe free).

Yes, you should have 2 pairs of Koss wireless headphones for the DVD player.

Good luck

I was looking for an angle on how to get her in a pic, but you guys have solved the obvious for my dense self...I will ask her to pose with the Jeep, then I will offer to print it, 8X10, for her to hang on her wall in her office. I think she'll like that since she only been selling cars for about month. Getting some with far less clothing might take some more work on my part, I will do my best :)

Thanks for the link and the phone advice. I think my sister has a 551 and my brother-in-law a V3, so I'll look at the phones tonight when I see them. I don't have a contract with my current phone since I'm well past the 1yr contract I signed when I got it, so I should be able to get whatever "deal" is going of for the phone I pick.

Did someone loot your Jeep? Why were you missing so many items?

no no no... you have to say that you are so pleased with the level of customer service that you want to take a picture of her and the car and parts to show how she brought them all the way to your house, so that then you could send the picture with a nice letter to her sales manager. She wins brownie points, you post the picture here and make us happy, thats a win win situtation. case closed. :D

now for the phone, you should try and "pair" the actual phone models that you are planning to get (just borrow your sisters phone for 5 minutes and do the pairing procedure) because some phones are more compatible with UConnect than others.... you want one that supports Caller ID, and ideally also signal strengh and battery meter as well. These compatibilities also depend on the network you're using, but the phone matters too. Try before you buy.

I'll tell her I plan I post it. I'll tell her I called her the "hot sales chick".

The service manager at the dealership, apparently, keeps all SRT "loose items" locked up. He's not around on Saturday's. I guess they are not used to selling SRT cars on weekends, this was kind of a quick deal. I walked into the dealership at around 2pm Saturday and went back to pay and pick it up at 6PM.

My sister does have a 551 and she loves it. Brother-in-law, Razr, also loves it. Neither do anything more the use it as a phone and number storage device with an occasional picture taken. I big into technology but still don't need my device to be much more then just a phone and I'd prefer small and durable. I tend to keep a phone a long time if it's a good phone (5 years). Now if I could just be that frugal with audio, home theatre, cars, mods, gadgets, etc :)

I don't know how they transport these to the dealership, but I have to assume uncovered trucks are some part of it. My car has many tiny little dots of tar all over it. They come off but it will need to be clayed to get it off easily.

Update: The service manager took yesterday off, so I don't have my parts yet. She's bringing them to me tonight and I'm working on getting permission for the pic(s).

Question: I don't have my manual yet. I got Uconnect to work with the V3 I purchased last night. Can the phone book entries be transferred to Uconnect??? How??? How can I transfer the call from Uconnect back to the phone??? I sat in the car for 10 minutes last night while on a call b/c I couldn't figure out how to make the call go back to the V3 without hanging up and calling back???

Pics of the hot sales chick at this link, http://www.picturetrail.com/gallery/view?p=999&gid=11862603&uid=449377

bottom few pics in the album. Sorry for the quality, she had to go back to work and didn't want to take the pics outside b/c it's so damn hot and humid here today. I'm 99% sure that she'll let me take more some other time since she commented on how she didn't like what she wearing today and asked if we could take them some other time, but I convinced her to let me a get a few today for you dogs. You can't tell in the pics but her "assets" are considerably larger then they look here. Her body is great but only if you like very petite/skinny (I do).

To be fair to her. Her name is Lyndsey and she works at Meador Jeep in Fort Worth. They don't have any Jeep SRT8s right now but she could help you with any other Jeep or 300C SRT8, Charger SRT8, etc.

I invited her to dine with me tonight but she had to go back to work and told me to call her and ask her out for a Wed or Sat night since she's off on those evenings. I think that's a good sign. I think she likes for my BIG......

wallet :)

hahah i can't believe you got the pics! you dirty dog!

ok you've earned some answers....

you have to make new phonebook entries using your voice through the uconnect system, you can't transfer them automatically.

to tranfer the call there are 3 ways:
- hardest way is to hit the voice button on the mirror and say "transfer call". i think this is the hardest way because the one time I tried it, while on an important business call, the ***** didn't understand my voice. if only she was sitting there in the car I would have slapped her. damn uconnect skank whore.
- easier way is to hit the menu button on your phone and select "transfer to handset".
- and the easiest way is to get out of the car and run 30 feet away.

now read this:

Cute sales girl. Now go get the truck dirty and invite her over to help wash it. Encourage her to wear some scanty clothing and than all us old married guys can live vicariously through you.

To answer the dots on the paint that you refered to, that most likely is rail dust and you will have to clay it to come off, Same with mine after I received it.

She is someone's wife...her divorce is not final yet. I'll find out more on Wednesday.

I thought the specs were probably rail dust but it's not like any rail dust I've seen before. In the past the rail dust was little rust spots burned into the paint and clay was about the only that would take it off...this stuff is more like tar from being on an open truck..comes off with tar remover, alcohol, goo gone, light scubbing with soap or quick detailer and easiest, clay.

Hey......... thats my wife !!!!!! WTF !!!

just kidding.

MSRP was $45,990 (or something really close to that) and I paid $40,800. I haven't seen any over MSRP here.
