I am debating whether to wait until late January for the kicker system. I am sure it will sound better than stock but how much better is my question.

Do most of you guys find the stock Boston system to be decent? Does it have enough punch bass at least?

Thanks

I have always had full on sytems in all my other cars (fold out tv's subs ect..) And I find that our stock system is decent. Its been more than enough for me. Allthough it could use some better Highs. I think NDM would be the best to answer your question. It def could use a 10" sub somewhere just for a little kick. Over the past year or so I have really gotten over that whole whos got the loudest bass thing, now I enjoy more Highs (screaming guitar solos) versus that of the drone from big ol' subs. Just my 0.2 though =)

I think the system in my 08 is just fine. I think it is way better than my Harmon Kardon in the BMW. That thing has no bass and the boston has better lows and highs in my opinion.

Life's too short to wait for better speakers. I think the BA is great. Is there something better? Always! But I'm not at all disappointed in it.

the kicker system is the same **** and not worth waiting for - if you want a true upgrade, go aftermarket.

Okay...Dont get me wrong...but I cant stand the factory stereo...

But you have to remember I have modified every vehicle that I have ever owned. I cannot really listen to a factory system anymore and enjoy it.

Kinda like a guy that has been doing Meth for years....He cant really enjoy Mary J because the High from meth is what he is used to.

The only use I have for my factory system is for the NAv...I dont feel like buying aftermarket....Oh and my vehicle looks factory at a glance...tha way I dont have people looking for what they can steal.

Now on the other hand, the Bostom system is decent. I think most people that dont have my stereo addiction, will think it is just fine...

I think that it just needs a sub to fill in the lower end. I had my sub hooked up to the factory system for a couple weeks...It was way more listenable than the factory stuff alone....

And You can always change out the factor stuff for better stuff. I have a hard time believing that the Kicker system will be as good as similar priced aftermarket equipment....

The car makers Just dont have an interest in Our Stereo blissfulness!!:D

They just have to appeal to the vast majority...and they have done that...

I will tell you this, the main problem is the processing within the amp....It does some funky things to the sound. I bet if Blown7 could hack into it, we could run the stereo flat without processing and it would get way better.

Thanks for your input!!

Toothmechanic - I have a 07 335 with factory system and sounds pretty decent. What year is your BMW? If it sounds better than BMW, I am sold on regular factory setup.

That is dead on...had the H/K in my 330i and the thing sucked. I find the stock unit in my 2008 SRT sounds way better. Better than the upgraded system in the Denali.

The Bose system in my Infiniti M with seat mounted speakers did sound better, though.
