Well for those who didn't know, I came out a few weeks back to find someone had backed into the front of my Jeep while it was parked in a parking lot. Needless to say, no note, and after waiting over 3 weeks for a new front bumper cover that has been on backorder, I find that the replacement bumpers from Chrysler now have the texture removed in the lower grill insert.

Funny because there was a lot of discussion from many about wanting to have the texture taken out and the covers on their 06 or 07's properly finished. Now I have that. The back still has texture, but it also has the texture on the top of the rear bumper for loading/unloading etc.

I was told that the 08's come smooth and there is no more texture, but I haven't seen an 08 to prove or disprove this. But either way, my former textured front bumper is now a smooth and glossy black.

Now I just have to have my Chip Guard / clear bra reinstalled...

Did you have to pay for the bumper or the isurance cover it, do you remember how much you paid for the front bumper at that moment. Can one buy it all ready painted!!!!!!

Was expensive. About $1200-$1500 for the cover alone and doesn't come painted...

I had to fork over my $500 deductible. Because the lower facia of the bumper was cut/torn a little and I didn't want a repair. With the 3M Clearbra reinstall and a car rental for quite a while the claim was about $4000...:eek:

I was only quoted $675 for an unpainted front bumper cover from the dealership......$1200 seems outrageous!
