Is anyone else having problem with the soft leather on the top of the stearing wheel flaking off. I like the feel of the soft leather but not if it comes apart.

well it looks by lack of a responce that I am the only on with this problem. I will take it to the dealer and see what can be done about it.

I had the same thing happen to me on my acura a few years back. I think on mine it was caused by turning with the heel of my hand. I used to always turn with one hand until that happened. Now I make have to make an effort to do it with two.

well I just took it to my local dealer not the one I bought it from. I could not buy it in my home town because they are not a 5 star dealer but they are going to replace it anyway

I am starting to have this problem now, too. I will take it to the dealer when I get a chance.

Had this problem at 15,000 miles, my helpful dealer ordered a new Steering Wheel assembly, took 3 days to get (none in the Detroit warehouse).

Installed, and everything is cool.

It all depends on your Dealer...

I waited for several months as I did not want to take my Jeep to the dealer I bought it from. Finally took it to my dealer in town to my surprise they just ordered the stearing wheel and replaced it no questions at all. I feel like the service manager here is a great guy. They also replaced the O rings in the trans. no problem to fix the leak so many of us have had.
