Is there a backup camera that can hook up to the nav. system ? The nav. book say something about one . Also is there a way to hook up an Ipod directly insted of a FM thinger.

Thanks
Mike

I heard the 2007 SRT8 GC will have a back-up camera, so if you wait, and if it is backwards compatible, you can install an OEM one.

As far as the iPod, all DCX vehicles are iPod ready, EXCEPT FOR THE SRT8 GC. The first item I requested was the iPod attachment, and unfortunately it is not available through Mopar. However, consult your local electronics store, they may be able to concoct a connection via auxiliary port.

from what i have heard, the backup camera for 07 will only work on 07 vehicles. the 07's have a different radio than we do. they started using the backup camera on 06 commanders, probably because you cannot see snot out the back window.
as far as ipod, i have one in my viper with a rb1 navigation. from what i understand there is not a kit for our radio as of yet.
time will tell

If you have the rear seat DVD package you can hook your Ipod up to the inputs on it, but you will still have to select songs on the Ipod.

but then you can only listen to it via the headphones, correct?
in terms of the cam, can you retrofit the commander setup since it uses similar components

I would think you could hear it through the speakers. I know you can hear the DVD sound through the speakers when you play one. Also, if you hook up something like a playstation, you can hear it through the speakers as well I believe.

nice. I guess that shows you how much I have used my dvd player. then when do you need the head phones. Does it automatically go to the headphones when the main channel is different?

The REC navigation radio has been revised to include a 3-pin jack on the back for the camera input signal so you would have to buy the new radio in addition to the camera, plus a new license plate brow and you would also have to run wires from the camera to the radio.
