First trip to the strip in the jeep. Ran a constant 13.5 with mopar cai and zoomers. If the baby seat or bike rack didnt slow me down, the cop surely did.

what a great couple of shots, then one very sad one. . . that cop in the sideview is going to be a classic for a long time to come. . . one of the sheriff's deputies whose dog I take care of told me today that after I pick up my SRT8 on Mon he's going to impound it and use it for chases and stings. . . I told him I'd put his dog to sleep!

Dang dood... I love that you still have your BMX bike. I raced all growing up (33 now), and somehow lost my last Redline in college. Now I do the roadie thing, as well as mountain biking, but my comfort on a bmx bike totally cursed how I feel on a mtn bike. I was like you...... could ride wheelies, and do all the fun stuff on the bmx style, but mtn bikes I can't do any of that because of the shape of the bike. Weird.....

Ok... now on Jeep topic, way cool pics. I've never been to a track, let alnoe drive at one. But boy do I dig seeing these pics!

At a dealer you will pay between $800 (cost) and there suggested selling price which should put them around $1400 for the set. I bought a set just a few days before Zen posted the pics, and the dealer I went to quoted me just under $1400. I pulled out a favor from a friend who owns a repair shop and he got them for me for a little under $800. Now if my kevlar pads would just get here, I could actually put them on the Jeep!

Is that Union Grove, WI? My dad used to race top fuel funny cars there back in the 70's...Grew up in the Chicago area so I spent a lot of time there...Brings back memories seeing your car going down that track. Nice numbers...

A few pics. of the old funnycar...

I think Funnycars in those days were running in the low 6 second range about 250MPH. I think our best time was 6.19, he sold the car in 1977...a sad day for a 13 yr old. I Grew up in Northbrook, northern suburb of Chi Town.

Born and raised in Evanston here, not to far from you. I had many firsts at Union Grove, first time I saw real dragsters, first time I saw Big Foot crush a car, and who can forget the jet dragsters. Lot's of great father/son days spent up there.

Yeah those were good times... I saw all the big names in drag racing, Big Daddy Don Garlets, the old Mongoose and Snake funnycars. Remeber TV Tommy Ivo? Don Shoemaker was racing back then he's now Racing with his son Tony Shoemaker.. We'll were not Racing but I do work with my Dad designer of Zoomers Exhaust. He developed and patended the muffler technology we sell today in all our exhaust systems. Only in America...

nah, wyler foods is no longer there. there are condos and town homes everywhere. I am actually opening up a new shop on Janke right across from GBN. If you take shermer south you dead end at a very nice new golf course, The Glen and that is where I hang my hat.

I chatted with a guy that used to live on base years ago and he couldnt believe what I told him about the area. Google map your old area you will freak.
