I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of my SRT8.
It is an '06 (4/06) and am interested to purchase a factory 7yr/70K mile extended warranty. My question to the people who went this route or will, did you purchase the warranty with a $0, $50, or $100 deductible? Price is about $200 between each option, so about $400 additional dollars for no deductible, or $200 more for only a $50 deductible.

The warranty will most likely lapse due to time and not mileage since I do not drive much in the city.

I usually go a $0 deductible. That way I know I won't have any out-of-pocket if I have to take it in for something.

How do Chrysler warranties work? Months/mileage from original in-service date or from date of warranty purchase?

The warranties are from original in service date. So my current warranty will run for about 1.5 years before the extended warranty takes effect for an additional 4 years or up till the odometer reads 70K mileage.

The question is whether the car will have to go in for service over 4 times after the original warranty expires to recoup the $400 premium, assuming I keep the car an additional 2 years after the original warrnaty expires?

If the car goes in for several issues, do they charge a deductible on each seperate issue or just one deductible?

If you go with a deductible, they should only charge per trip, not per issue. Not having had a Chrysler extended warranty, I can't say that's how it will actually happen, just how it should based on what other manufacturers do.

Maybe someone with some first hand Chrysler experience will chime in.
