Does anyone know what these are for? I cannot figure out what makes them illuminate, and they are not on the other GCs. What is the word on them?

European model fogs. Someone on here wired them up to work as brake lights.

I wired mine up to be lit up when I apply the brakes - it's VERY BRIGHT!

Trainer - was it easy to wire up? What did you wire them to? They have bulbs in them already but are not wired up? So many questions.....

Not to hi-jack but....Easy way is to just connect to either tail or brake wire on either the 10/7, or 4 pin connectors for trailer lights using a wire tap. Both connectors are tucked up under rear bumper on drivers side.

Good idea!

Any way you can get a pic?

I had the local stereo shop do it for me, it only took them 1/2 hour, tops.

I'll post a pic once I get someone to sit in it as I snap a shot.

Thanks!!
I'm doing this for sure; I'm having ZenGarage smoke some taillights for me, and would like the extra security on braking so some crackhead can see them well!!

I crawled underneath yesterday and saw the trailer hitch wiring but i don't know which wires to use. Anybody have an idea? I could figure it out with a multi-tester but was trying to avoid the aggravation

Page 283 and 4 in manual, or use this. Wk Jeeps main menu is always a good place to start.

Here is a shot of mine tinted. After reading this thread, I think I gotta hook those badboys up :)

That looks great! Do you have any pics of the entire back? I'd like to see all the lights. BTW, painting all the chrome looks awesome on your ride.

In all honesty, I love the look, but I should have had the reverse portion masked off like I have done in the past.....
Here was my last couple.

That is SWEEEEET!!
How did you get the rear bumper lenses out? I've heard they were riveted in, but haven't checked myself.

Do they have ride of the month on here??? I'm voting for yours!

Thanks very much for the compliments. More to come ;) I'm stll waiting on my new wheels, and when they get here, the new rotors and pads will be on too. Also, my upper door suede is HOPEFULLY getting done next week.

Yes, those lenses needed to be removed completely, but the painter had the whole bumper apart to get the chrome strip off for painting-- so I understand with it off, the lenses are easy to get to.

I removed mine today to send into paint. The combination lamps and third brake come right out, two screws each.
The fogs are another story. They are held on by one bolt and two small clips. The bolt is a bear to get to. We needed to loosen the entire bumper to get to the bolts. I will post some pics and detailed instructions later. Overall it was a 3 beer job to remove the fogs.

The tinted tails would look great on my Inferno Red, I want to hook up the lower bumper tails also but I have LED's with load resistors on my rear stop and signal's another project in the making for me. Looks great BTW!

Aren't those lights supposed to work as rear fog lights ? do they work as fogs or they are only some sort of cosmetic job for US cars ?

They are only hooked-up if the truck is exported to another country.
