Fellow SRT8 Fans,
Guess I'm a little bit older than the average poster here. However, I'm still young enough to be excited by the 2008 JGC SRT8. Got one a week ago today. Just passed 300 miles on the odometer. Yes, the mygig is confusing. Yes, Don at Champion Dodge is a hero, Yes, getting my ride registered here in Texas has beem a PITA. Questions about Jeep reliability are something I can relate to. Had a 1998 JGC 5.9 Limited up until about three weeks ago. Yes it had problems. Several radiators, several rear ends. plugged condensate drain pans, but overall, a fraction of the costs of the Porsche, Mercedes, and BMW repair costs that my wife and I have experienced. Guess I could complain about the discrepancy between the service and loaner car that my surgeon wife gets from the BMW dealer on her M3, and what I'll probably get from my local Jeep dealer (especially since I bought it from Don). But I'm a happy camper (spend evenings in my garage trying to figure out the new electronics), and am not complaining about the Jeep SRT guys' efforts. I'm a mechanical engineer by education and experience, and can relate to the effort the SRT guys have put into our rides. We're lucky to have these cars IMHO.
