I just finished the SRT track experience at Mid-Ohio race course. I am sure everyone can see my grin :D from where you are. I can not believe you can have that much fun in a car with your clothes on. ;)

I want to give a big SHOUT out to the Skip Barber instructors and pit crew for putting on a great event and to DCX for building such great cars.

Today was my first time on a road coarse track. Anyone who has not tried a SRT track event MUST GO AS SOON AS POSSIBLE! I am so glad I chose Mid- Ohio. What a fun coarse to drive. I will post some pics and maybe some video tomorrow. And let me just say I got to take a hot lap with Claude Bourbonnais in a Jeep SRT8. It is UNBELIEVABLE what this truck is capable of. I invite everyone to go to the mid Ohio site http://www.midohio.com , select the Race Track menu and select a Lap around the Mid-Ohio track. You will get a chance to, in a very small way, experience the track that I got to in a jeep with a professional driver. Before you ask we did get to drive ourselves around the shortened course. Everyone got to do at least 4 laps in each of the following vehicles; SRT8 Magnum, SRT8 Charger and SRT6 Crossfire. I had the most fun in the Crossfire and felt the safest and most aggressive in the charger.

no Viper run?

We got to drive the viper on the short track part of the driving clinic. Several people took the hot lap in the Viper. Three lucky people got to take the viper race car GTR? with the pro driver.

Where do I sign up?

It is too late to sign up for Mid-Ohio. You can go to the web site www.srttrackexperience.com to look for future events and to sign up.

It was definatly worth it.

SRT8driver is right. I was at Mid-Ohio this week too, and also rode with Claude in the Jeep - holy cow! Very impressed at what the GCSRT8 can do around a track like that! The day was by far one of the most exciting in my life, and the Skip Barber guys were very helpful. The track runs were my favorite part - also enjoyed the Crossfire. I didn't expect it to handle as well as it did. Of course the GC was the king at the drag strip! Everyone has to do the Track Experience. I'm thinking about going back the next time it's at Mid-Ohio and paying the fee - it'll be worth it.
