...an excerpt from the mind of a romantic nut

We go back to yesterday evening in a peaceful, quiet neighborhood....much like your own...

....she stepped off the train, tired and skeptical over what her jubilant husband was about to present. Another new car she sighed, and delivered fresh off the truck too. Her husband waited for her while chatting with a friend who had gleaned the newly purchased Jeep. She walked to them while inspecting the brand new, reddish, shining, life-sized hot wheels toy. She thinks to herself "OK, it's pretty I suppose, but I prefer the rear slope of the magnum". Her husband helps her inside pointing out various features as his friend reluctantly leaves.

Why does my husband's friend keep staring at the tires? She thought. The inside is smaller than the magnum but the accoutrements made up for that; the touch screen navigation was particularly impressive. The ride home was pleasant, even though the startling price tag crept into her mind every so often. Her husband said, "The car is only at 75%, so you will notice it's not at its full potential yet". He was smiling; he looked so young, even younger than usual. The new car smell was overpowering, she could even smell new car "plastic". Later at home, the husband needed to make a quick run to the store. He left this time with his son as the co-pilot; who was smiling like a Cheshire cat.

She watched them carefully pull out of the driveway. Her eyes unconsciously followed the subtle buoyant movement of the rear carriage as it gently bounced over the uneven drive path and out onto the street. A pesky bug had flown into her mouth to alert her to potential drooling.

Damn...that's a nice rear end. Her eyes moved to the fat tires, big shiny RIMS, the low setting sun was dancing in them as they spun, she was mesmerized by the spinning. They were spinnin' they where spinnin', LOOK AT THEM SPINNIN' BOY THEY SPINNIN' !!!. The husband slowed the car to the stop sign, he looked at me...oops.... I mean her with a mischievous twinkle; he ROARED the car to life and bolted up the street in a REDROCK flash. I don't know the terms for what was going on in the ****pit and in the engine but damn the car sounded good boy! Then, as if coming out of a dream, the giant toy car carrying her husband and son were gone and she suddenly felt left behind, a sadness crept over her.
The neighborhood was again quiet and still. Her eyes remained fixed on the last spot the car was visible. "Come back", she croaked, "Come back"..... she tried hard to blow the whistle with labored breath and trembling hands.

Sounds to me like the wife got a hold of your forum sign in password ;)

BTW Ms. 08redrock j, are you a short story writer? I take it you had just gotten off the SEPTA train from you job as writer for the Philly Inquirer, am I correct?

No she's not a writer but it was good. And how the heck did you know she got off of the SEPTA train??? We live near Ambler, you wouldn't believe the vibes I've been getting before I pick up the Jeep. She has been pissed, but I guess not to pissed. Just goes to show you the Power of the Jeep:D

Ok a little background on this post. I ordered the Jeep last month, I had a SRT8 Mag wife and I loved it. But I made the mistake of driving the Jeep at the SRT Track Experience So she's been upset ever since, nothing being said really just why the rush. So we pick up the story after I got the Jeep yesterday, and she is writing her thoughts of the whole situation. Basically she's telling me she likes the Jeep and she still Loves me.

I know, I guess you didn't see my post to your thread with the photos of you picking it up at the dealer. You bought from Knopf, that's where I bought my 06.

Small world :D

No I didn't see your post, sorry about that dude. Yes it was Knopf. My wife isn't a writer, she just reads a lot and has a natural flair for the dramatic.

I didn't know she was so talented :D But seriously it's tough not having your wife in your corner. And I knew she didn't want me getting rid of the Magnum, but sometimes you got to do what you have to do. And thank God I was right about the Jeep
