I am about to go crazy wanting Train Horns to go on my rig but I'm not quite sure where to hide them. I was thinking under the car, near the exhaust. There is fairly decent space in there. I was wandering if anybody had them already on there GC. If so please post pics and share where you mounted your tank, compressor, and how hard was the install?

Just thought I'd share. Here is my old set-up when it was mounted on my SRT-10. Test-fitted the other day and about to install them on the GC.

Yes, it's the real thing...all aluminum...freight train issue. Chrome tank with a high pressure switch to keep the compressor running only when necessary. Will definately rattle your teeth!:D

Im sorry...HEHEHE!!! But when you get one of those drivers that is a complete AZZZZ on the road, it is just one of those joys that you can get from giving him a taste of fright.

Guy was passing in and out of traffic with a POS car, almost hitting people on the road. He was giving people the finger and tailgating like crazy....He scared tha holy hell out of some lady with her kids in the car and almost ran them off the road. So we wind up next to him at a light....He is all smug like he is the king of the world....We scream " you dont have to drive like an azzhole" he fires the finger.......we fire the horn...

HEHEHEHAHAHAH!!!!! the guy must have shat his pants....we scared the smug look off his face...You should have seen the look of fright on his face.  He was so scared that the light turned green and he didnt move for a minute.
Maybe he was waiting for the freight train to pass!!

At the next light the lady and her kids gave us the thumbs up and said thank you.

Totally worth it!!!!!

I hope we didnt give the guy a heart attack.....but he was just flat out dangerous.

When I think of train horns on a car, I think of the YouTube video of the idiots in a truck driving around town videotaping people's reactions as they drive by them honking the horn. Yeah.....real funny.

I guess in the right situation, they could be helpful, but why not just go with air horns?

Not even in the same category as far as obnoxious is concerned....

You would have to witness it to understand.....

The situtuation you gave above is unfortunate. I am not a complete AZZ like that. I like to have fun, but not to that degree.....

We used them to get attention at minitruck shows....it was fun. Some people just abuse good fun.

I really am not a fan of those things ... the sole purpose of train horn is to pi$s people off ... frankly i think it's a really good way to get beat up... not to mention giving the police one more reason to pull you over .... i think not too long ago a kid with train horn ended in jail because some poor elderly had a heart attack because of it ....... but then again i am not a teenager and today is Monday so i probably just don't get how cool those things are :(

Those look familiar. Have had them for a year and haven't had a single problem with them. I had a pro install the compressor up front behind the bumper. I rarely use the horns and if I do it is usually just a tap. For a person standing near them, it is very loud, unreal. But if somebody is in car, they will them even at a freeway speeds but it isn't a jolt to them like it would be for a pedestrian. I wont use it if there are people standing close by except for a demo.
I still use my original horn more than the airs. It really is nice to get someone's attention when they really, really need it.

my uses so far:
brake bouncer at stop light-- annoying and he stopped after the horns.
full blast for idiots stopped on a busy rail road track.
drivers that do the no blinker cut in front
cell usage at stop light -- let me make that light greener
short conversation with train engineer
tail gaters into intersections
I accidentally set it off in a parking lot, brushed the button and scared the daylights out of a women and her child. I apologized to them.

I did a favor for one of the Car Boutique guys and he gave me an air horn setup today. It's sooooo loud. I'm going to mount it to the Jeep soon. This is the one he gave me.

Big horns, small d!cks

They are compensating for what there parent didn't give them

any one that has to scare the crap out of an elderly person who isn't a perfect driver and everyone with in a mile of them is a self absorbed a$$ hole that needs to make there masculinity know.

Being the man means not having to say it!!!!

I'm in Miami I've got enough stress just trying to provide for my family

I shouldn't have to deal with you lack of masculine security and your lack of basic respect of other.

Just because there is one bad driver in a group of 20 doesn't mean every one should have to endure you reaction

May you be treated with the same respect that you show for others

Just Saying

Note: I live in Miami the worst (by rating) city to drive in the U.S., I think I have the right to say it

i've got a big a$$ truck (Scales at 8000lbs, Pure work truck) I make it due with the factoery horn

Not always easy, but I have considuration for those that are around me

In some cases I would agree with you. Depends on the situation though. I am the type of person that has things just to have them. I get bored and mod my ride. I don't need loud performance exhaust, cam, heads, etc..., but I get bored and impulsive.

Here is a few good reasons to have the train horn mod...

I live in a city of self absorbed people, who do thing without thinking of any one.

I work hard and am tired of being under an over pass and some one setting this off.

My son from birth spent the first year of his life in a hospital. My life has enough stress already and life is to short.

I know that my description is very general.

Please think before you blow. Not everyone needs to hear you
