INSANE!

R&T did a 0-200 MPH test this month for those that haven't seen it - the Hennessey Viper had the best time (and it didn't even break  ), beating even the Bugatti Veyron. Here's the info for those interested (they had 2 miles to do it in)

The Lamborghini Murcielago "only" reached 190.1 MPH in 50.1 sec

MB SLR reached 199.5 in 47.2 sec

Ruf RT 12 hit 200 in 35.5 sec and in 7385 ft

Lingenfelter Corvette hit 200 in 26.5 sec and in 4894 ft

Bugatti Veyron hit 200 in 24.2 sec and in 4770 ft (it was also at the 1 mile mark in 25.9 sec @ 204.4 MPH)

and the Hennessey Viper hit 200 in 20.3 sec and in 3488 ft (It hit the 1 mile mark in 26 sec @ 220.9 MPH)

Ahhh that's nothing, I did that on my bicycle....j/k. Those are crazy Azz speeds. It's one thing to have a car that can do those speeds, but it's another thing to have the driver with testicular fortitutde to push it to the limit. Amazing to say the least.

Veyron would have eventually passed all of them if the track was long enough :D

I wonder what the times would have been like had Hennessey not iced the entire upper end of the engine and heated the drag radials with heating blankets?

not only that it is a full out racecar unlike the production models he was going up against.

and before anyone else says its a Viper... trust I got up close to this "Viper" at the Texas Mile in Goliad and it is built to the hilt. Carbon Fiber body panels, tube frame, and several other mods that take away from the glory of this feat.

Those are quick, but quick is relative...
Yesterday I watched a 0-1000 mph in 18 seconds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was fueled by solid rocket boosters and liquid hydrogen...it burned fuel at a rate of 1/2 a TON a second

With in 10 minutes it was traveling at a rate of 15,000 miles per hour.

I would love to experience that rush someday!!!
