I was just thinking that all the new mods that have been coming out like the B&G2 and the bwoody are really giving us a decent performance boost. I have a feeling though that when winter comes and the temp dip the real beast will come out and we'll end up having serious traction issues. Even with 2-3 shifts with the b&g will be ugly. - so my question is are there any real leads for some decent type of LSD yet ?

My 9" Ford rear diff (and new HD steel drive shaft) is on route to me for the install.
The cost from Western Diff. wound up north of $ 6,000. with the install being done by me.
I would hope you guys could duplicate mine for $ 3,000 or so. I just did not have the time to research this.
I will have a complete write up on it next week when I install it and my HD. BWoody control arms.

Oh that LSD.
In SoCal LSD is Lambo Style Doors. Haven't seen those on a GC yet

Bill... question. I know we've been down this road before, but my "cheaper" solution would be to yank the diffs out of an 06 Limited JGC with Quadra-Drive II and put them under the SRT-8. I'm sure that the aftermarket support for those axles exist, and i'm sure we could find 3.73 ring gears and strenghened parts...
feasable?

feasable? Certainly we need to find a cheaper way of doing this!
Potential problems with the Quadra-Drive II:
That is an electronic posi I believe...how will that work?? , Hmmmm, aftermarket posi possibly?
The ring and pinion are no better than ours and I don't think any aftermarket ring and pinion would be strong enough...ask Ira!!Ok my take on a more cost effective rear diff mod at this point:
Remove the axle tubes from our rear diff.
Install the tubes in a 9" Ford center. Pretty easy job for a decent shop.
Oops, need to have custom axles to mate the SRT end with the Ford center, still not real terrible though. What this would address is the ring and pinion as well as a posi. unit of your choice.
What it does not address is any potential weakness with the outer axle hubs.
Not an easy task for sure!
I spent $ 6,000 + (complete rear diff, NO core supplied, and custom steel driveshaft and flanges) for a piece of mind. I know it was quoted at $ 3,000 originally.
Once I get it installed, I may try and work with Western Diff to try and come up with some solution.
