lol, yea me too - rounded front 'ftl' , I wonder if the rounded out all the other curves on the car. The interior is nice -but they should have darkened out the roofliner and pillars also. I like how they have just "srt" on the seats now instead of "srt8". The big question on my mind is how does it ride ? and what other restrictions/limitations did DCX put on or take off.

I like the dark color interior. Eh..the orange side markers wrap around to the front.

I like the the new interior color, hate that it only says SRT. I like the new (old) key and that they added a 115v outlet in the back. The HID's IMO are fugly, they brought the yellow closer to the front, why? No clue, nice front bumper. The mygig is awesome and they made the dash a tad better with more aluminum inserts on the vents. All in all not bad improvements but not enough to trade mine in, yet.

Ill wait till the 2009-2010 when they upgrade the engine and mine will be traded in, I WANT THE 6.4L HEMI!

I've owned Z06's, cobras, benz's, bimmers, and more.. this jeep amazes me at every turn. If you had told me that a 4700lb SUV could handle like a butterly and sting like a bee and be priced in the high 30's 2 years ago, i'd laugh at you all the way out the door... but i'm a believer now.

The interior looks great, I love the darker color!
The dash looks like a different material, but is it softer than the crappy hard plastic in the 06/07?

I like it no doubt, but it doesn't make me envious enough to not like my '07...its just a bit different now which is all good. The dark interior is something i would have liked. I liked SRT8 in the seats better, I like the single key without a fob better. Not sure on the bumper so I'd say either is good. Don't mind the look of the projector HID light housings. not sure what I think of the carbon-like material on the door panels. Love the rear seat heaters and the inverter built in. And still love my '07. Am not anxious to see the '08 in person cause pics don't always do it justice.

Again congrats - whoever the new over of that beast is...

only nice new feature is rear heated seats and ill never be sittin back there so wutever.... glad i got an 07

I love the interior and the new MyGig, but the rest.......eh....I could do without.

For one, the steering wheel is no different (other than color) that the other 08 Cherokees. I really liked how the 06-07 had a different steering wheel. Also, I really don't like the cruise control on the stalk. The location, to me, looks as though anyone with long legs is going to have a problem with their knee hitting it :confused: I think the cruise on the wheel was just a much better location IMO. Whats so hard about hitting ther "step" button to scroll through the EVIC???

Wow... I can honeslty say I'm not impressed with the improvements. My original and only critisim of the JGCSRT8 were the bland interior colors, i've always been a black-on-black sorta guy, and the dull gray chrysler-wide theme made me back off initially. I loved the two-tone in my old Overland, and I've seen this dark slate used in the chargers/magnums in the 07s at the dealership, thinking.. hmm.. much better color.

Honestly though, it didn't tickel my fancy.. I dont think the Nose or bumper is an improvement at all, the 06/07 frotn ends look more more aggressive and "intercooler-friendly"... i.e. in the fashion of aftermarket ricer bodykits. The new bumper looks more "porsche" to me. Aside from the darker color, nothing strikes me silly at all like i was hoping.

In my future plans are an interior do-over in 08, and I think I'll use the new seats and carpet (probably from a wrecked vehicle, but drive safe guys), and then swap out plastic interior and dash panels with the 06/07 Overlands.

I bet the mygig and upgraded sound system rocks though :D

Agree - def needs more bells and whistles to make it stand out over 06 and 07. Now, you throw in the new 6.4L and all is well :) 12 more months I guess :(

IMO...some of the interior changes are ok. It's a nice mid-lifecycle refresh.

But for my money...I can do custom work to my 07 inerior for less money that it would take to trade (and lose) in to an 08. And it would be completely custom..all mine.

I'm thinking maybe some of the pieces might fit as I doubt they changed every mould for the dash...but i'll only be able to tell after buying a piece or two. I kind of like the CF by the window switches...but if that matches the center dash plate over the Mygig...I'd pass on that. Too much CF in your face.

I think i prefer our noses tho...but will have to wait and see one in person.

The front is not a dramatic change at all, I like the fact that more of it is body color than previous. I wouldn't say it at all less aggresive. Though the amber has got to go. I remove all orange from any car I own. The 8 in the seat should have been left.

IF it is Keyless go you will love it. I don't take my keys out of my pocket unless I am changing clothes. Took a few days to get used to as we are all so used to turning a key to start.

I was told that for the first 300 miles I should not launch from a stop too hard. However it's good to launch from a 20+ roll. I'll have to go back to work to get my camera as the Treo sucks at night.

I am not 100% if it's better than the earlier models, but I think it is. It's not nearly as nice as any of the BMW's I have owned previously, but it's not a BMW. For the $45,000 I paid, I feel that I got more than paid for.

Yep, I really like this nav/entertainment system. It's a million times better than the older one. I rented a 300c that had the old nav system and I hated the toggle. Touch screen is pretty cool!

That is true. I saw the '06 dash and found it (specially passenger side) to be really plain looking. I have an FX which is similarly priced (not comparing performance) and it has the "normal" looking soft plastics covering most of the dash. I am hoping that the '08 will atleast matchup to those standards. Still this car is the biggest bang for the buck.

yeap, looks like stitched leather with a chrome ring-the armrest is also now stitched.

supposadly you can just beat the crap out of it when you roll it off the lot...problem is I'd imagine if you popped the motor before 300 than the dealer can electronically find out you wot'd it and maybe void your warranty

I'd seriously doubt anything bad. I am sure the porter at the dealership already did a few burnouts before you even picked it up :D My biggest concern would be improper break in of the rear diff which can cause whinning noise.

The jury is still out...

1/2 say drive it like you stole it (right off the lot)
the other 1/2 say, follow the book to the tee...there is a reason the manufacture has guidelines.

All I know is my ex-brother-in-law was from the former school of thought. Right after he installed a new 351 in his 69 Mustang, he did a huge burn-out in front of his house. Just to make sure the motor worked. :D

For me, I will do my best to follow the instructions. It was really really hard (and I failed) to follow the book on the wife's WRX.

First, without looking at my interior right at this moment, where are the Aluminum/Rubber gas and brake pedals, and are there aluminum SRT8 door sills?
Second, these pictures remind me of the cartoons with two almost identical pictures side by side and try to find the differences between the two. I am having a very difficult time finding any significant difference between the 07 and 08.
Third, as much as I hate to say this, but the American car companies have a lot to learn from the Germans and the Japanese about interiors, especially dashboard design and controls.
I wish DaimlerBenz hung in there a little longer!

WoW. That darker interior is like a night/day difference. I am so glad I didn't pick up an 07'. If that 6.4L is here for 09', then I'll wait for that too.

one more thing and it may have already been mentioned is the color keyed pieces below on the lights. On 06-07's it only chrome behind the lense now it looks as though they are color keyed on the outside of the lense.....

its a piece of bodywork under the light. the key is awesome. everything about this car is awesome. sorry don i just saw an amazing opportunity and jumped at it. it will definetly be serviced at your place though.

If you look real close at one of the pics with all the boxes in the back seat you can actually read that one of them is the gas/brake pedal cover, so whoever buys this and does not get it, proofs in the picture

They arent included on any of the factory orders. They come from Chrysler as a Dealer installed option so they do cost a little extra. I havent gone to my parts department to get the price on them yet, I just remembered that for the 07's they were difficult to get.

I just purchased an black '08 with the Mopar performance exhaust, cold air intake, nav, sun-roof, and option group 1. I had ordered it September 1st and was suprised by getting it in so soon.

Could someone one help me with a few newbie questions?
Where would I get the door sills I read about?
Where would I find the "stubby" antenna?
Which "chip" or reflash would best complement my set up with exhaust and intake?
Does anyone build a 2" reciever that can easily be mounted (and dis-mounted) beneath the exaust?
Any other "cool" things I am missing and should get?

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated
