Every word was capitolized; the grammar was horrible; punctuation was non-existant.

The new breed of engines coming out of europe seem to need to achieve substantially higher RPM's to make it to the 500hp mark. The 6.1L has so much low-end grunt, comibined with the 3.73 axles... its a beast off the line no matter what you're up against.

I have an E55 and had 2 Jeep Srt's and a Dodge Super Bee.

The Jeep did tale my AMG off the line, dues to its great launch with AWD. But, the E%% catches up REAL fast and passes. The Dodge is another Sotry. THe 6.1 is great, but the E55 just pulls like a train.

The Jeep is hard to beat by anything at the light.....thats where the 90% smile factor comes in. Especially if it is a little wet out.

I wonder how my future SMART car will do at the light?

Nip - the curb weight on an AMG S63 is 4663lbs. Where are you getting your numbers from? It's just as bad as another recent post where you stated GC's and brakes don't mix, then make the completely useless comment that the WJs had problems with brakes. Dude, the SRT comes with Brembos :rolleyes:

A lot of people get confised when I tell them I needed a 6000 LB car for tax reasons. No, the car doesn't weigh 6000 pounds, but the GVW is over 6000 lbs.

As to the MB 63 vs SRT8, they are pretty much the same. It comes down to driver behind the wheel. Since I drive a ML63 now and I had a GC SRT8. I personally prefer the ML63 even with the higher price tag put into consideration.

For me it comes down to this... try putting full bolt-on mods plus heads/cam on MB 6.3 for under 5K bucks..

CRAP!!! RennTech/Brabus.... they want like $5000 bucks alone for headers.

An amg benz especially a s63 amg will smoke almost all cars from a roll, any role 40 50 60. Sure it cant get out of the hole like our rigs, but seriously how can we even compare our jeeps to any amg benz. Not even close period. European cars are amazing in every aspect next year im trading in my rig for an audi Rs4 with out a doubt. You cant beat the power of Europe.

Yep, calipers are Brembo but Brembo doesn't make brake pads. The factory SRT8 pads are manufactured by Jurid.

How's it goin? I currently have an ML63 and a RRSport Superchared - I am trading in the RR for an 08 SRT8 this week. I drove my friends SRT8 for 2 weeks straight while he was on vacation - and the ML63 is my typical daily driver. I will tell you - the ML is most definitely faster. 0-60, 0-70, its all about the same - but when you're talking about 70 - 100 mph, or 100 - 120 mph ... the ML gives the SRT a SERIOUS run for its money. There is a reason why it costs 2X as the SRT ... here is the difference, the ML's power is reigned in with technology and overly savy stability control - the SRT is more raw power - but like I said, on the highway, the ML is quicker when it comes to high speed acceleration - BUT with that being said, I CANT WAIT FOR MY 08 TO ARRIVE - ITS GONNA BE FANTASTIC!

WHat did you think of the RR Sport Supercharged?

I was not a fan of the RRSport - I never had any serious issues with it - except for a few electronic issues - but it wasn't as fast as I wanted and the build quality is not that of a 75k car. However, its a great looking ride - and a great car for long drives. I want something more performance oriented, thats why I'm getting the SRT8.

....but like I said, on the highway, the ML is quicker when it comes to high speed acceleration...

Having been the original autobahn tester for the SRT8 GC, I would love to drive the ML 63 (or ML AMG/Carolsson/Renntech) on the bahn. It has to be a blast. No doubt it is a great rig - too bad I'm not still in Germany, would love to "test" one. However, I just enjoy the fact that with the $$$ I saved on the SRT8 I only lost minimal performance and luxury while retaining a significant amount of exclusivity (< than 8K units in 3 yrs.) Plus for the difference in coin I bought a new motorcycle, a used Bass Boat, a truck to pull the boat and all the fishing sh!t that I need for the next 3 years. Oh, and gas for the aforementioned vehicles for two years all for less than the ML. But hey, it's a Mercedes Dude. Fish on!
