I have tried the search but cannot find pix or source for the mesh screen inserts for the SRT8 GC rear valence slots. I would like to find how $$$ and where to buy. Pix too. TIA

I don't think anyone makes these as a retail product yet. I think the guys that have done this simply went and bought a sheet of mesh and cut it to fit.

The first time I saw the pic here, a name of a company was mentioned. An internet search produced no result for that name. I think it was a one-off home made thing. Rats.

I really don't think it would be that hard to do, you just need to find the style of mesh you want. You can cut it out with a cheap set of snips from Home Depot, file the edges nice and smooth, then attach it with a little clear silicone.

You can start your search at http://www.mcnichols.com this is where we buy our perforated metals and bird screen, they may have something you'll like. If they don't, keep searching!

IMHO, I wouldn't do it. I do think it would look fantastic however knowing how much durt the back of our SRT attracts, the grill will get beat up and look bad over time.

This (http://www.cherokeesrt8.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=76&limit=recent) is the only one I've seen. If you do it like he did where you simply put in the valence for show and don't cut the valence out, it shouldn't get anymore beat up than the valence itself would. Just make sure you use stainless steel or it will rust.

Thanks Krush, that's the one I saw too. I have to rethink this idea, as I don't want to put phony crap on just for show. If something truly improves function and happens to look good, OK.

In my opinion, if you do it in the rear, you also need to do the front, and honestly, probably the lower grill and upper inserts would also be best changed out too. Multiple meshes on a single vehicle might appear a bit choppy.

I'm the one that posted the PICs of the rear bumper vents, the ones posted were just temps so I could give the maunufacture a idea of what I wanted. I have a polished stainleess steel set in the works.

The front grill on your truck is that just the stock grille painted silver or did you get it chromed it is hard to tell from the pic?

Be patient. If you want a professional job, wait for a vendor to offer the product. Or, go to a customizer and have one fabricated.

Its not to hard to cut mesh and stick it in there.
