I'm gettin confused on the best CAI's - I just want something that will add significant horsepower!! What is the best of the three??

I'm not too worried about sound because that will be covered with the exhaust system.

Volant is the way to go!

I've been hearing some good things about the BWoody - no doubt, I'm just a little concerned about the weather affects - being pushed down through the engine.

Whats the story - am I just being to paranoid??

And are the tips exposed? - or do they have weather coverings that act like splash guards??

This beast is gonna be my everyday driver, so I wanna think like 5% along functionality.

I have the volant with the snorkle (thru the grill) and brake scoop. and can't see any real flaws. Mine is as air tight as the factory box and with the modifications there is plenty of cold air (ambient) getting drawn in. I also worry about snow, rain and dirt being a year round daily driver, and this set up makes more sense to me. My truck seems to be running right with the little mods I have (see 1/4 mile & trap speed). This is my Biased opinion. :)

your just paranoid...lol....J/K. Our intake has no issues with the weather it's tucked up in the fenderwell enough so it does not see the elements. and we've already prooved our iat temps are 8-14 degrees cooler than the volant :D And just an fyi we actually seen more water on the oem filter with the snorkle mod during heavy rains when the oem intake was still installed.

All I can say is my filter looks as good new, perfectly clean with over 2000 miles on it. I drive my truck rain or shine. As for temps, I have no idea... She runs hard though... :)

Not that my opinion really matters as I don't even own the beast yet, but...I plan on getting the bwoody...I had a set up close to what they offer on my 5.0 years ago, and I never had any problems with weather. Deep snow, hard rain, puddles... no issues and it is TRUE cold air, non of this in the engine compartment stuff...

But like I said...my opinion really doesn't matter...yet :D

Wait for K&N to come out with a kit. They are the pioneers of air intakes.

Volant is identical to stock. Waste of money.
AFE = hot air intake
Mopar = hot air intake
Dub = hot air intake

BWoody = only TRUE cold air intake. :)

I think the airflow might be better with the volant versus the stock box - IAT are probably similar. I bet if the IAT sensor was moved on the volant, it would also have lower intake temps, probably comparable to the Woody..

I agree. While the volant is similar to the stock box it houses a larger filter than a flat panel. If you modify the brake duck and grill to draw cold air it is essentially the same as a unhoused/extended location cone filter. I would say we are are splitting hairs between a modded Volant and BWoody. When I ran my best 1/4 ET (below, backed up with 3 13.0x's) it was several tenths (3-4)and several MPH faster (3-4) than the 2 other GCSRT8's there that day (One had an unmodded Volant and one was stock). The only other real difference between mine and the others was the B & G. If the minor differences between trucks were only tuning then I must tip my cap to the B & G. This of course is just my opinion.
