I have been on a vacation to the east coast (which was insane!!!) so I missed a lot of the action here...before I left there was all talk about the 08 having MDS on it, and now there is nothing. The WKJEEPS.com site had it on there, and now it doesn't.

I looked and searched to see if there was any topics on this development, but could not find anything...

Anyone hear anything about this? (and if I missed a thread...I am sorry for the repost)

I have a copy of the dealer order from Champion and the third line says:

ESF 6.1L SRT HEMI MDS V8 Engine

That leads me to believe that MDS will be on mine.

Nope, you won't have MDS. This was an internal data entry error that resulted in MDS being added to the 6.1 "ESF" engine description. MDS is still under development for SRT engines. The earliest it could appear would be 2010 models, and even then it is NOT a certainty.

why do you want MDS? from what ive heard from the 5.7 LX guys, its horrible, its not on long enough to make a real impact on mpg, and when the motor switches back and forth it gets pretty aggravating.

Wonder how strange it will sound if you have the Borla type S (which I have and it's loud) and it switches to MDS ? weedwhacker ?

My 5.7L HEMI had the MDS, personally it was worthless to me, and if it was in my SRT8 the first thing ide do is disable it.

If your going to the track etc the last thing you want is MDS kicking in.

If you ordered the Sirius Streaming Video it won't start production until October. The SRT Kicker option was added to the order forms late so you wouldn't have been able to order that early on.

Would you expect the Kicker system to be available by October?? or maybe sooner?? do you know if the factory install will take space away from the interior (box in rear store area??) - thanks for all you do to keep us informed

Kicker system is set for October 1st production. I'm not sure if the factory system is going to be different than what Mopar currently offers as far as the sub goes.

Do you know if we could have the dealer install this option at a later date if we order a SRT produced before October 1?

GM tried MDS about 20 years ago... it sucked. It still sucks today. From what I hear it brings up other difficulties when installing a cam.
