Picked up my black fully loaded SRT today for $41,117, it actually has the block heater and they tacked on $75 for some wheel locks. I had to drive to Milwaukee to get it at EP, as NO dealers in IL are willing to honor EP without adding 4 grand in extras.
It was actually kind of tense for awhile, I arrived at a dealer in Beloit around 9:15am only to find that someone showed up at 9am and was doing a deal already. So I then trucked for Milwaukee, arrived at Ewald's to find, again, someone arrived just minutes before me and was working a deal. I was just about to leave for Madison and my last hope to get a SRT when my sales guy grabbed me, he told me the guy trying to buy the SRT was 6 grand upside down in his trade. He also said the manager didn't want his BMW X5 as it would be hard for them to sell. So I showed my sales guy my beautiful, loaded, scratch less 2003 GC and told him my company owned the car outright and I was ready to do a cash deal. He then went to the manager and explained the situation, the manager then looked at my trade and all of the sudden things changed. It was interesting to sit in the dealership and watch it go down. The sales guy had been going back and forth between the couple trying to buy and the manager, then after my guy talked to the manager, there guy made one last trip, in which the manager shook his head no and then everything stopped. It took 45 minutes but finally the couple got up from the desk and walked outside to think about it, the car was now mine. :D They came back in to find I was buying the car, and the guy wasn't happy at all. Then as I was closing the deal, the same thing happens to me. Another guy came in to buy the car and his salesman keep talking to my salesman, trying to get in on my deal. The guy was cool thought, I told him that I was buying the car FOR SURE and I gave him the address of the 2 dealers in the Madison area that had black SRT's, he thanked me and took of those dealers. Never had go through so much to get a car, but after that long ride home from Milwaukee I knew it was worth the headache and I managed to show a couple of guys (Mustang and hopped up Accord) that things are not always as they seem. The "WTF" look on peoples faces when you open this thing up is worth every penny I paid for the car.
