: Paintball
maxxjeep 07-22-2007, 01:40 PM I have read through a few posts on here about paintballing, and seen an avatar or two floatin around of action and so i had to post!
I went out yesterday to a local paintballers heaven (DropZone, if ayone is familiar). I have goofed around and own my own marker and equipment, but this was the first time i played with "regulars" and people that go to tournaments and what-have-you. This place has around 4 or 5 courses, a couple speedballs, castle games, and i dunno something else...
I got owned. Straight up, owned. (I should take some post-action welt pics)
But! I had a blast and am now part time addicted!
Just wanted to share
NighT ProWLeR 07-22-2007, 01:47 PM Mango will chime in soon enough ... Fuel to the fire
Mango 07-22-2007, 03:14 PM YESSSS!!!!! WE CONSUMED YOU!! YOU ARE ASSIMILATED!
:) :)
What are you shooting? It's addicting isen't it? Paintball is a lot like modding our trucks.
You go out with a Tippman or something basic, get lit up by a kid with a ramping Ion or PMR....
Then you think "Well I'll just dump $1200 on that Ego and I'll OWN!"
Go back out, get a couple more kills and compete at that level, then get owned by someone with a modded Ego or other high end gun. Then you start tinkering with it, lighter bolt, better tank, better LPR, different software or a Virtue board, etc. etc.
:) Want to hear something weeeeird, I've been to Dropzone before for a players clinic once and for a DZ Army scenario game. :)
Heres a great video of our new team: Jersey Authority
If you listen to the announcers, they explain some things well for newbies.

I am familiar with some of the stuff you mentioned; however, that will be in time. As for now I am firing a Spyder TL-R.
Not sure what the big dogs range at but when calibrating it for play it was shotting at 340ish fps. They made me bring it down to 260 for the day.
After playing for a solid 4 hours I decided I needed an auto loader/hopper of some sort and a much quicker trigger set up. Not to mention something more reinforced then jeans and a tee-shirt. :(
And definitely some anti-fog spray for my mask ( I couldn't even see for most of the matches!
Do you ever plan on visiting DZ again?
navyavi469 07-22-2007, 05:25 PM I was heavily into paintball back in its early hayday with my trusty Generation I AUTOMAG.. lol.. those were the days!!! Its come a long way since then, another hobby that you can pour money into and come out with nothing but cuts and bruises in the end, but good times.
Mango 07-22-2007, 05:28 PM It's alllll about the memories and good stories! :)
mrfreeze 07-22-2007, 05:36 PM speaking of paintball this one is for you http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-i-qMEAPGNU&mode=related&search=
Mango 07-22-2007, 06:34 PM LOL! Thats insane. There is nothing that could possibly feed that though, our fastest loaders can barely keep up with 30bps, that thing is probably 3 times that ROF

ya but could you imagine the look on other players faces when you pull that thing out ..
Noddings 07-24-2007, 07:13 AM Yeah! 1 more into the paintball life!!
Go~RillaWRX 07-24-2007, 11:01 AM What would a modded out Automag w/ two air bottles (compressed air). Sell for these days? Sorry to jack the thead, but I just remembered I have a old school bad ass marker from when I was in high school. Any ideas? Know anyone that would want it?
Mango 07-24-2007, 05:16 PM Considering I'm a certified Mag Tech I think I can make a rough assessment. What mods exactly? Level 10? List your mods and I can give you a ballpark figure.
yaccster 07-25-2007, 08:21 AM Guessing your air bottles may need to be re-certed too if they are old. What size are they?
Go~RillaWRX 07-25-2007, 09:59 AM no idea on size. one is big for when i played big wooded courses and one was small for tight comp courses. They are the reverse thread design.
Known mods on marker:
wooded pistol grip
lighter bolt
double finger trigger w/ some sorta hair trigger mod
aftermarket barrel
vertical feed
Truthfully, i bought it from a semi pro baller like 8 years ago. At the time, it was the $hit. Had just about every upgrade you can think of. I dont remember everthing.
yaccster 07-25-2007, 10:26 AM Wow 8 years, good stuff. My old Angel LCD with Angel Air is hopefully worth ~ $350 and cost me well over $2k back ~ 2001.
Go~RillaWRX 07-25-2007, 01:06 PM yeah the angel was just becoming an essential when i bought this gun.
Go~RillaWRX 07-25-2007, 01:06 PM ^at that price, i might keep it for the rare one day i wanna lay some rope!
yaccster 07-25-2007, 01:11 PM ^at that price, i might keep it for the rare one day i wanna lay some rope!
Xactly agreed...but if you sold it and got a 'new' X7 or something you might be better off....
Go~RillaWRX 07-26-2007, 10:56 AM So what do you think I could get for it if I did sell it?
Mango 07-26-2007, 04:09 PM Go to www.automags.org/forums and put that Mag up for sale in the classifieds, you'd easily get $200-250 for it.
I'd buy that LCD Angel for my museum..... :) :)
What do you think an Adrenalin Angel LCD would fetch? I think only ~500 were made.
