Hi all -
II picked up my inferno red SRT-8 last night. I've been reading the forums for awhile and picked up some great info here. The truck is absolutely amazing. I really love driving it, and with employee pricing, I had to finally bite. Well, now on to the bad part. The truck now has 54 miles on it, and when I started it this morning, the traction control light and the "ESP/BAS" light both came on and won't go off. Did I get a lemon? Anyone else have this happen? I just hate to have to take it back to the dealer already. Thanks.

make sure you read the SRT specific owner's manual as there are a lot of things that are exclusive to our rides. If you got the basic Cherokee manual, make your dealer get you the right one or you can order in on the Jeep website, a must have.

Thanks for the help. I did try pushing the ESP button, but the light just blinked off for a second and then came back on. Also, I did get the SRT specific manual. I drove the truck around an additional time, before I really started freaking out and the lights just suddenly turned off. Weird, but I'm happy I don't have to take it back. Hopefully it will stay off. Thanks again.

If it reoccurs you can always disconnect the battery. Leave it disconnected for about 15 minutes. This will sometimes cure these types of problems.

This has happened to me to a few times, cycle the ignition and it will clear, check under your rear seat drivers side there is a computer under there make sure all the plugs are tight and in the sockets etc, I took mine ot the dealer and 1 of the abs sensors threw back an unreadable value thats why it illuminated the ESP/BAS lights there all tied in together, I wouldnt worry about it but have the dealer log it so they know about it. I tell you to check the wiring because any loose wire in a plug will throw the light also, Dont worry about it and enjoy your new ride.
