I'm going to be moving just outside of San Luis Obispo in a couple months so I gave the local dealership a call to see if they had any 06's in stock and what they could do on an 07. They told me they just got done selling their last 2 in stock on ebay for 10k over sticker and they wanted a 10k deposit to order an 07:eek: Are there really people out there that fall for this crap?

Don't EVER believe when a dealership tells you that they sold "such and such" vehicle for "such and such" price. I have followed all of the SRT8 listings on Ebay and have NEVER seen a legitimate sale for one that sold for anywhere near 10k over.

My sentiments exactly. I believe many that have been listed on Ebay have buy it now pricing right around sticker. Many of these cars are going unsold.

i drove through a local dealer last weekend to show the wife what inferno red looks like as she hadn't seen it. dealer asked where we got our jeep and i said oregon. he asked how much i paid and i said msrp. he asked how i got it for msrp and i told him not all dealers ass rape their customers. he didn't care for that remark much. this dealer has two jeeps at the moment and have 14k markup on each. i said good luck with that and drove off.

Have you guys ever heard of one asking for a 10K deposit on an order?

I paid nothing down on my order, but this was my 5th vehicle from this dealership. $10K sounds really high for a down payment to me, though. I've heard of lots of folks putting $500-$2500 down.

I had to put down 5 grand and it's my 3rd car from this dealer, and probably my last.

It should be noted that if you can buy this car as a company car it does have a GVWR of over 6,000 lbs which means an immediate 25,000 tax write off along with first years depreciation. I think a lot of people are missing the 6,150 GVWR on these cars and not filing for the heavy equipment write off.

CONGRATS on a deal well done. GLAD that there are dealers out there honoring the EP program, as they all should!
