Finally got the system done....
I really tried to build my own sub box but my wood working skills were not up to the task, so I found a prefab one and stuffed it with 2 JL Audio 10W6v2's...and yes I do understand the speaker grills look like crap...

Wanted the box to be removable so I installed a speaker wire terminal so I wouldn't have live wires laying around when the box is out...

On to the good stuff, amps, had a hard time finding a good place to put them so here is what I did....Now you see them...

The rear doors got a pair of JL audio XR650csi's..

The front doors got a pair of JL Audit ZR650csi's, no pic as they are located in the factory locations. I am running a Clarion CD player and changer, nothing fancy but sounds incredible.

This was the main reason I didn't want navi as I knew I was going to do something with the stereo.

looks good. I am about to install my system. how exactly did u run the speaker wires to the "hidden amps"?

that entire panel comes right out so you can run all your wires than just drop the panel right over them. the amps definelty get hot but have not shut off.....yet....I may have to look into some sort of fan to move air around in there.

What do you have to secure the box? Just replying on the weight of the subs and box to keep it in place? Also, you gonna try to hide the speaker wire?

there are 2 bungee cords you can't see in the pics that hold it to the back seat. and no I used HEMI orange speaker wire for a reason.
edit: on a hard launch it would tumble right over.

Jeff that looks nasty bro. Did you do the install yourself??

Jeff

yes, I did the install took the better part of a weekend as I don't really know what I am doing. I wish my wood working skills were up to the task to build a box. That is the only thing I would change. Maybe i will give it another shot, just afraid I will loose a finger in the saw, yes I am that challenged.

Nice clean install, I like it. I found a place the other night that sells vinyl thats a perfect match to the grey leather, if I can find the link I'll post it. You could wrap the sub box in that vinyl to go with the already extra clean look you have going.

I installed my system yesterday and I did the same thing you did, except for the speaker wire. Thanks for the install pics.

Thats funny how you have the exact same amp configuration that I've done, with a 500/1 on the left and 300/2 on the right. You know what they say, great minds think alike!

Only thing I did different is I cut openings through the plastic and mounted the amps to 1/4" aluminum plates to help dissipate the heat.

In case you haven't done it already, don't forget to put banana plugs on that cable!

yeah cooling is an issue. I noticed the plastic on the underside of that cover has started to melt  to the amps. They have not reached the heat threshold to shut off, yet.
