yeah I installed focal 3way splits in the front 6"in the doors 4 inch in the dash and tweets in the pillar trim. I had to remove the dash from the vehicle so I could rework the mounting positions to fit 4 inch mid-range. It was a pain in the backside but well worth the 6 hours removal and refit.
How does that Focal 3-way sound in the GC and which model # are you using?

well i just installed 4" dash speakers it was PITA. I didn't remove the whole panel, i just remove the grill cover and use a razor to cut the hole. Took me 2 hours for each side. I was the bIggest mistake i make with the car so far, since i can only hear the Tweeter with the dash speaker. there is no point get a 4''.
btw I just installed 6 Coaxial Speakers on my car but the front only recieved Mid bass and the dash only received high range. Can i just swap the stock amp to make these speakers full range?

Sorry to bring a thread back from the dead, but can someone confirm that if you put a full-range speaker in the front doors, it will only play mid bass with the stock amp?
From what I heard with and without IP speakers and with and without front in-door speakers (played both normal CDs and test CD):
IP speakers play Hi- bass, midrange and highs (from 150-200 Hz and up)
In-doors play low-mid bass from 35 Hz up to 200 Hz, actually in 35-60 Hz band sound is quite loud but distorted. Suppose that it's becuase of resonance of speaker-door combination at 30-40 Hz.
Rears play full range.
Also noticed that after replacement (by 3,5 " JBL 327 GTO) IP speakers are dominating. Sound harsch when playing modern digital recordings, however sound mellow when playing old 70-8's recordings.
Now have to set equaliser to minus 1 at highs.
My thought is that factory Boston amplifier is digital one (D-class, T class or some similar) and factory IP spaekers are specially tweeked to dampen hi frequencies.
I have some experience with digatal (TriPath) home cinema amplifiers. They have special ferrite magnets on speaker wires to cut high harmonics. You should seen these in-line magnets on power cables and on some USB or computer monitor cables as well.
With and without these magnets amp sounded completely different.
My next move is try to confirm that Boston amp is actually digital amp and then to place ferrites on IP speaker wires (close to amplifier).
