Well here they are as promised finally a suspension upgrade for the srt-8 jeep cherokee, factory swaybar links are a weak 5/16 in diameter and the way the factory mounts the passenger link bids the rear swaybar with a 1" offset. We corrected the offset by moving our passenger link inside the oem bracket, and ours are a whopping 7/8 in diameter and custom energy suspension bushings we used to improve handling even more. Our sway bar links are nearly tripple the the size of the oem links!! The weakest link of the srt-8's suspension is the sway bar links due to the lack of diameter and lack of strength, significant improvments in handling were felt on the test vehicle (mrfreeze). Adding these to your vehicle will make your srt-8 jeep handle like it should!!

Guys, I've searched the forums and the consensus seems to be positive for the sway links...but I have a question:

What are the downsides to throwing the sway links on the SRT8?

We all know that the SRT8 is less than sure footed when WOT (this is where Porsche has us fellas) but I can't help but wonder why JEEP wouldn't just throw some larger diameter links on the JEEP as original equipment? Why didn't they? Especially considering its current handling when WOT? I can't really believe the $50 incremental cost was the reason, so why did JEEP hold back?

If no major downsides, I'll probably grab some BWoodys. I just wanna make sure I'm not sacrificing something here that the SRT Engineers didn't want to sacrifice (besides the small cost).

cost is the factor, mopar manufactures alot of the same parts for different vehicles which keeps cost down, also believe it or not as with the srt-4 platform mopar designed the suspension so it was upgradeable, hence stage 1 through stage 3 coil over packages, turbo upgrades etc. also parts now a days are designed to fail at a certain life span, auto manufactures need to make money after your vehicle's warranty expires.

My only question before I sign on the dotted line is... Is the ride quality affected? I do not want the ride worse than it currently is... Any input is appreciated.

no worse...to put it in perspective is this....crusie down the rd going about 40 mph and cut the wheel real hard, you'll notice how much body roll you have, with these sway links it all goes away..here check this link out...http://www.cherokeesrt8.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5075&highlight=bwoody

Ride quality is the same take's bumps a little better and it handles very nice through turns I noticed some noise @ first so I took them back off and put white grease on the sides and reinstalled now it's much better so if anyone is getting a set make sure you grease those things up well before you install them

how much would a typical install run?

Free!(if ya do it yourself)

OK, seriously.

I'm buying a set & my local knuckle-bangers quoted me $80. Of course, that's CA labor, and they quoted the minimum of 1hr(said it would take 40mins). Your local prices may vary.;)

I would recommend doing this install yourself if at all possible. Very easily done in about an hour.

Bwoody...I sent my Paypal...please send em in the color that's as close to OEM as possible (I like to keep a low profile, if that's possible in a SRT8...)
