I use Zaino Z7 I beleive that is the car was soap, I can wash it and put 1 coat of Zaino in under 1 1/2 hrs. You have black so when you get to like 10 coats you will freak at how different your car will look. For the Z2 and Z5 I use the cotton applicators and buy a BIG 100% cotton towel from bed bath and beyond, you can get the Zaino off in 10 minutes tops. Hope this helps.

awesome. Yeah I need to do some over the weekend.

How will it look after 10 coats?

now, are you washing between coats or do you just do them in succession?

I heard you are in queens, in am in Bayside. Shoot me a PM.

I got these new microfiber towels off detailcity.com, they are awesome. I ll try them out this weekend. later

DONT use microfiber Towels! Trust me on this 100% cotton only, I used to put 2 coats after every wash Z5 and then Z7, I think in a 24 hr period you can only put 4 coats, now I put 1 coat after any wash, its enough for me because I also wax my wheels to keep the brake dust from sticking to the rims so my cleaning process is atleast 2 hrs, I know im anal but my paint feels like butter its so soft and it shines like no other. And after 10 coats you wont beleive your eyes it will look like black glass.

When using Zaino microfiber towels are NOT recommended by the manufacturer. Ive used them and do not like them either 100% cotton is he way to go. And that pic is obviously off a microfiber towel site. To each his own im just going by personal experience.

You are right on Inferno red, as I have one too. So was my 01 PT Cruiser. Sal (Zaino) has been saying 100% American made cotton towels for years. Used to use them....Have to say though microfiber techonology has developed rapidly over the years. Cotton is still cotton. Switched years ago to fiber towels for all polishing and drying.........Much more effective than cotton, and no swirls or scratches on my red. Just my 2cents.

But you have to get top quality microfiber such as these offered here. http://search.store.yahoo.com/cgi-bin/nsearch?catalog=classic-motoring&.autodone=http%3A%2F%2Fstore.yahoo.com%2Fclassic-motoring%2F&query=microfiber

Can use this too. http://www.properautocare.com/clasmotacpri.html

I have used all of the above as well as almost everything else on the plannet. I just tried "ICE" by Turtle Wax and I'm VERY impressed with this. What I like the most is how it can get on the molding and not destroy it like others. It also works fantastic on the paint - it's more of a polish though.
As a side note, I have no idea how it works on non silver cars - but do non silver cars really matter? :p

Bought a Meguiars (Super) Shami today, worthless. Seems modern technology has done nothing to improve on the shami, only made it worse.

The NUmber one way to dry a car is something I picked up somewhere on the net. I got a toro 215mph leaf blower. It beats anything else for drying, all without touching the car. 50 bucks and worth every cent
