: ASM supercharged...
MatFab 07-08-2007, 04:25 PM The road to where its at....
Brief history...
After placing a down payment on a turbo system from PPP in early february and listening to them tell me how its a month away every month (went on like this for 5 months) they were fine about giving m back the deposit and moving on. I was waiting for a new system to come out before i tried to hard for the deposit cause i was looking forward to what PPP would come out with. So then the ASM kit came out. Waited for FAST to get his up and running and ordered the kit the next day after his was running great. The kit came on time which was great and besides the fact they forgot to include a dozen or so parts that were needed it was a nice kit. Ben did overnight anything i needed but i still had to get a few misc parts because of trying to get it running around the 4th of july which is a shipping nightmare. But all in all very satisfied with the kit and nicely engineered brackets and all. I would have gladly waited an extra day for them to make sure i had all the parts but I kind of expected them to all be there. The vehicle also has kooks installed with offroad pipes and B&B exhaust which i had to get the muffler rewelded due to their seperation issues. So here it is. Ask away and if you need to know who to deal with or not to deal with companie wise let me know. Also give me a few weeks and hopefully i will have the solution to the tuning problems My resources will be doing this vehicle and i will see if they are willing to do others. Kind of nice being in detroit where the big 3 are...
GotStroke? 07-08-2007, 04:41 PM Looks good. T-trim?

I want to hear all about the tuning, and how? Every little thing :)
BuilderBill 07-08-2007, 05:15 PM MatFab,
It is hard for us to be this patient isn't it!
I have chosen to have ASM do the complete install for me so that I would have one vendor responsible for everything. I am glad that I chose that route.
I believe that ASM does produce a great product, although the communication has been sadly lacking. If it were not for a couple of Scottsdale guys I would have no idea in what stage my project was.
Please do keep us updated, this is going to be a great thread!
Bill
MatFab 07-08-2007, 05:22 PM I also have some more info i should have added. This truck with just a airaid intake and B&B exhaust made 354 awhp. It will be getting tuning on another awd dyno and i will have new numbers then. It will also be at the track (milan dragway) the end of this month (25th) to see what kind of times it will run.
gculver 07-08-2007, 05:26 PM I would like to know just how it runs now--with the unichip piggy? Have you data loged anything!! GC

It runs great. only issue right now is at certain shifts it throws a misfire code due to still having a stock calibrated computer an hitting redline... but thats only temporary... and no i will not be getting a flash.. will be much better than that

it was good talkin to you to make sure everything was good to go. The blower has quieted down a bit and you just hear the wine now which is much better.
HoustonSRT-8 07-09-2007, 11:09 AM Nice set-up and even nicer Chevelle.
MatFab 07-09-2007, 12:17 PM Nice set-up and even nicer Chevelle.
Well thank you. Got a few more pics for you. The chevelles has a built big block, lowered a bit with 13" baer's all around. Its just a fun car to drive. I also included a frame i designed and built from scratch along with the blower motor. The rendering is of that truck when its complete. I'm definently into all types of cars as long as there is alot of HP behind them.
Also if you want to hear the motor in action turn your speakers up and click the link below.. you won't be disappointed

jlandbl 07-09-2007, 12:20 PM Sorry if this is a dumb question, but where does the coolant overflow tank get relocated to with this set up?
MatFab 07-09-2007, 12:23 PM Sorry if this is a dumb question, but where does the coolant overflow tank get relocated to with this set up?
its the large shiny box under the tube running up to the intercooler and to the left of the supercharger. way overkill for an overflow but looks sweet
FastSRT8GC 07-09-2007, 12:27 PM That air bagged truck will be sweet. Do you have photos of the body?

GodfatherSRT8 07-09-2007, 12:56 PM Mat I am guessing you did the install yourself on this kit. How hard was it to do?
BuilderBill 07-09-2007, 01:11 PM Mat,

Not to bad, i had to wait for parts then wait for more parts so it took me a week but if you had all the parts i don't see why it wouldn't take more than 2 days workin decently.
