: headrest Monitors
ernster 07-06-2007, 10:54 AM I have a question reguarding the monitors in the headrest. Do you guys have one that matches directly to our seats. The color grey? I just want to buy the entire headrest and replace the exsisting ones. Also I do not want the DVD built in, want to run a playstation fron under the back seat and connect them to that. How much does this cost to do after the headrest(monitors) are bought? how much work is it to hook up the headrest and put the playstation in?
If anyone has done this please post pictures and let me know the cost!!!
Go~RillaWRX 07-06-2007, 11:11 AM Never heard of straight up replacements, but who knows.
bruso 07-06-2007, 11:20 AM I had them cut into stock headrests...biggest mistake I made with this truck!
The headrests angle up and so the only way to view from backseat is to tilt seats way back...not good while driving.

ernster 07-09-2007, 07:09 AM Thanks for the help "SAYWHAT" I just went to the Autobarn here in Queens and found the whole set for 699.99 for the two 7" monitors, 2 headphones, DVD player and wireless remote control. I will have the DVD player installed in the middle console of the jeep. To have it hidden instead of out in the open will be nice. The thing that I am going to have them do is run it through the radio for the truck as well. I hope there is a switch the can be done to have it either work through the truck radio or through the headphones. I am going to find out as much as I can for my options. Again thanks for the help. After I get everything finished I will take pictures of the jeep with all the mods and put them up.
Thanks
Eric
ernster 07-10-2007, 07:12 AM Ok got it ALL!!!
I got Sharp 8 inch monitors and the color of the headrest matches perfect. I also bought the playstation 2 slim and put that in with two wirerless controllers, so the kids can play games (When they are born 1/29/08). Basically for me till then and maybe 2 years after that. HA. The installer is waiting to do the whole thing today. Does anyone have any good ideas to put the playstation 2 slim. Does not fit in Center console like I wanted.
I need good ideas so it can be reached to put in new DVD's and games. In the back or in the front.

Size comarison to regular Playstation
Dimensions (WxDxH) - 23 cm x 15.2 cm x 2.8 cm
BLKSRTEIGHT 07-10-2007, 07:20 AM That's a great price. I got quoted $900+ at Best Buy and over a thousand at HiFi Buys (also known as Tweeters).
ernster 07-10-2007, 08:14 AM The whole thing installed is going to be 650.00. 100 for the playstation 550.00 for the monitors and install.
Not bad. I think it is better than the overhead one that they offer when you buy the truck and that is over a thousand dollars.
Still trying to decide were to put the Playstation 2 .

Hey bro., I had direct replacements that were put on by the factory. There is a post on here, maybe the show-off forum with pics. I'll try to find it. PM me and I can give you the guy's name and info. in Florida where I had it done. They actually use different headrests, but they are exact match and they gave me the factory headrests.

Can you post pics of the install when done? I really want to do this (headrest monitors) for my kids minus the playstation. Thanks!

That's nice. Do you know how much and how it integrates with the factory head unit? Is it via RF?
Street WK 07-10-2007, 07:41 PM Mine aren't as great, but this is what I have:

ernster 07-11-2007, 04:38 AM Guys everyones look great. I hope that mine come out that good. Getting it installed this morning at 9:00. He said that it should take about 4 hours. I want them to come up with a good place for the playstation. something out of the way but asseable
ernster 07-11-2007, 12:06 PM It took long enough but everything is done and it looks awsome. The 8in screens make it look real good. The headrest match perfectly and the sound with my infinity basslink is amazing. I was playing glatiator and it looked and sounded rediculous. I am now satisfied. But I would like the front screen (NAV Unit) to be able to play it too. The guy said 800 dollars and he need to ship out my headunit. For now we will stick with the rear entertaiment only. Maybe down the road a little we will think about getting that done. I will post pictures in a few days!!!!!!
