So I needed to eliminate some of the chrome (I'm not a fan of stock :) ). I had it all prepped and colormatched to the vehicle. With the exception of the reverse sensor buttons (which stayed chrome) and the front lip insert, which I had done in black. Also had all the rear lenses tinted, and the roof rails colormatched. I dig the look :)

I wouldn't do it on black it but definitely looks sweet on silver. What about the fog light area of the front fascia, are you going to color match that also?

Thought seriously about it, but decided to leave it black because the wheels I have coming have some black, and I think the front and the back with black down low, will tie very nicely with the black on the wheels.

Nice Greg, when you originally told me that you were gonna do this I could not picture it. Looks very unique, nice touch. I look forward to seeing the black wheels. I wonder if painting the front and rear bumper would have added a nicer touch. But I remember you mentioning you would leave it to compliment the new wheels.. Great job!

Hey Scott! Well, the new wheels will actually not have as much black as I originally planned. I went a different route on the wheels. The barrel will be chrome, but the spokes will be colormatched silver. Only one of the 7 spokes has a carbon fiber inlay (black), which is why I needed black on the rig somewhere else, to tie the black in.

ge2, that looks very clean. I used to paint my wheels (BMWs & P-cars) to match my paint. I always de-chromed the bodies too. I'm looking into having Fikse Wheels make a set of 1-piece wheels for my GC.

Fikse are fantastic wheels for sure. They are a great race style wheel. Can't wait to see what you get done!
