I dont want to debadge so can i just use a soft toothbrush to clean around the badgeing i just noticed it looks like its never been cleaned should i use wax or just soap and water? (black truck) it looks like you could imagine the whole truck would look like it it hadnt been washed in 3 years

my instincts are to use the toothbrush but i really would not rather substitute scratches for oxyidization...........thanks

i just debadged my jeep, an 2006, there was a nice brown outline around the letters, i started with goo gone, but no luck, so i used a small amount of rubbing compound, the resuld was a perfect finish, little wax and LOVE the result!

i dont know if you are going to have much luck with the tooth brush i would get some rubbing compound and a microfiber and go to work. if you want it to look good though just take off the badges lol makes it a lot eaiser to clean :)

Q-tips work great. Try soap and water first, then wax.

what I would do, is get micro fiber, wedge a credit card or plastic applicator knife (the thing you use to lay bondo.) in the microfiber and scrub the cracks like that. works for me.

you can clean and remove wax the same way. my car is black I hate the white streaks wax leaves behind.

This is the exact reason to de-badge or at least my reasoning.

A "soft" worn toothbrush might be OK but they still may scratch. A detailing brush is probably a lot safer.
