I was looking forward to meeting Rox for the first time on this past Saturday at the track. I kept looking at the line of cars hoping to see a murdered out Jeep but it never arrived.
Steve, may your eternal resting place be peaceful. May your family, friends and co-workers find comfort at a time of need.

To the family here at CherokeeSRT8 may you all too find comfort with his passing. This a great group here, its sad to see something like this happen to one of our brothers. The Tribute stickers and Memorial thread are all very nice ways of showing love for a fellow member regardless of how much or how little one knew him.

Steve’s unexpected loss has certainly left a pit of emptiness in those who are grieving or simply trying to understand the tragic circumstance.

The memories being shared as well as his forum posts have been a source of comfort and reflection. Steven’s life on earth is past but I know he’s where eternal life starts anew.

Blessings and peace to all of the McColm family and friends.

Hello everyone at the JeepSRT8 community,
I am not apart of this forum but I came across it after someone told me there was a tribute to Steve here. I was so touched by the support you guys have shown that I posted a link to here on Steve's facebook page. Steve's family contacted me shortly after and ask that I post this msg to show their appreciation. From Steve's sister Louise;

My mum and I have been overwelmed with the messages and support from everyone involved in this tribute. He lived life to the full and never regretted a single day of his life.

Stephens funeral will take place sometime next week in Houston, Texas but on return to the UK there will be a Memorial Ashes Service which will be held on Thursday 12 May 2011 at St Columb Minor Church, Newquay, Cornwall, UK at 3 pm.

This will be very much a celebration of Stephen and his love for life and anyone who knew him, friends, colleagues and members are welcome to attend. If you need any further details these should be directed to Andrew Henwood, Funeral Director. Tel: 044+ 01637 851199.

A service will be held in honor of Steve McColm aka RoKDoG in Houston later this week. Once details have been worked out I will post them here for any who wish to attend. Once again Thank You for all the love and support you have showed here at the SRT8 community. May God bless you all.

This was so sad to read about, and I wasn't going to post, but I thought I should just to show the family the support. RIP Steve.

Maybe someone could print this thread, or a combination of the threads, and mail it to them? That's why I added my name to the list of replies.

In one of the other threads, someone mentioned the next time he starts his jeep, the first two revs would be for Steve. That really touched me, and I'm going to do the same.

I just read all 40 pages from the other thread - I didn't even know what happened to RoKDoG until I read that thread and found the news reports. This is so sad. RIP RoKDoG, I never met you, but 40 pages of comments and your enthusiasm has really touched me and I will never forget you.

Nothing yet at this time. Harrison was waiting for family confirmation but perhaps he can now contact this Funeral Home to help make those arrangements possible for donations.

We were hoping that the person who posted as Friends of Steve/RoKDoG would have reported back earlier this week to provide a better time frame on the service but I'm sure all will work out.

Thanks J & D's SRT's for finding the service information for tomorrow.

Hello everyone. I just recieved the details for Steve's memorial service today. Sorry for the delay on getting it posted.

The family has notified us that the memorial service for Steve will take place tomorrow, Friday 29 April at The Chapel of Eternal Peace at 2454 S Dairy Ashford, Houston, TX 77077.

I know its late notice but hopefully some of you guys can make it.

I gave been in touch with Friends of Steve. We need to get the family to set up a PayPal account. I believe that would be the easiest way for all of us to get them their money. I have forwarded my cell number to his sister via Friends of Steve. I think the PayPal account would be the easiest way for people from all over the country to get money to them. They could just easily withdraw it to their bank account vs. everyone sending checks or cash to them I think. Hopefully this can be setup soon.

Other option would be all of us send our donations to the funeral home in the form of a check. IMO, the PayPal addy would be the easiest for all parties.

I did send an email to the funeral hme in Houston this afternoon asking if they could be of any help, but have not heard back from them. Will post up when I do. However I agree with Harrison that a PayPal from a family member would be the best & easiest.

Harrison, I totally agree that the family member who contacts you should coordinate the steps to set up a PayPal account for our member donations.

Give the family a hug from us. If u get the chance to talk to a family member and the time is right, talk about the donations we have ready to rock. See if a cousin or someone could set this up for us. Again, make sure the timing is right though if it ever occurs. Thanks Squilly.

I was able to make it over to Steve's memorial service today and had the opportunity to meet his family and many of his friends who are all wonderful people. It was an awesome celebration of his life and how he impacted so many people from so many places. I did have a chance to offer my condolences as well as those of the members here and left with them mine and Harrison's contact information. Everyone I talked to knew of this forum and had seen the numberous threads/ posts about Steve. Hopefully one of us will hear from them soon and we will be able to provide the much needed support to his family.

It is so great that you go on thinking about Steve. The clock stopped in our lives that day and life is not the same. I miss him so much and I continue to battle with my grief as I know he would hate to think that I am not living life to the full. It is hard to carry on and his passing is something that mum and I may never get over. Please carry on remembering Steve and I too talk to him everyday. Sending you my love and thanks.

Thanks for posting up Louise. Three years does seem like yesterday. Hope all is as good as it can be across the pond. Sadly I don't have the R sticker anymore since I did the Lexan windows. Gonna have to get another one. He raced with me for a long time and I did great with him watching over my back. Take care Louise and God Bless.
