Someone on another forum said that the August Motor Trend has an ad for the 08 SRT 8 with a picture showing the new front end/headlight design. He did not scan the pic, so can someone here PLEASE do this. I would myself, but I have not received the Aug issue yet.

Looks like you hit the bottle last night too. ;) Or, am I missing something - like the implication that the Jeep shown is not appearing to be any different from previous model GCSRT8s and thus possibly not a 2008 GCSRT8?

Drivesrt site has been updated, but NOT with pics of the 08.

That would explain why I was looking so hard to notice any differences.

Besides the HID's and different grill, I noticed that there is NO antenna!!!!! Sweet!

I dont like the new shape of the lights. The 07s look MUCH sharper. This is a step back in design IMO.

I am guessing you are right it is photo shopped. I just looked on the drivesrt page and it doesn't have the antenna on the 07 either, bummer.

hood looks squared as well and the front bumper is a little diffrent to incorporate the new headlight design. Any more pics elsewhere?

What I'd like to know is:

The overall dimensions of everything looks identical to the 07/06. Would a headlight swap be possible and/or SIMPLE with factory MOPAR parts?

I have to agree, those pie cut headlights look awful and I don't like the rounded bottoms either.

i think the grill is just a little longer---then new headlights are booty--never thought i would be happy to have an 07

look at the angle of the bumper underneath the headlights its alot steeper than the o6's and 07's which gives me the idea that the bumper is more rounded from top to bottom and not squarish like previous years. If they soften up the countours of the beast than they're just ruining the design by making it 'smoother'

I think its hard to learn much from one picture.

You also don't know if the HID lights will look different than the regular lights, and if they do which version you're even looking at in the ad.

Truthfully, I think it's fine. My concern was that they'd change it alot, and I like the current one alot so I wasn't sure how alot of change could be good.

This stuff is pretty minor, and until I see it from multiple angles, or preferably in person, I can't see any reason to pick it apart.

From what I see, the grill has a more squared look to it. That all seven of the openings are more equal in length. I think this gets ride of the slight "smile" look the 06/07 had. It also looks to be a tad taller.

I like it just as much as the 06-07 models. If there are slight differences, that just makes it more interesting. The HIDs, Interior mods (yet to be seen in person) and hopefully some of the 'quirks (read: TSBs)' fixed is good enough in my book, for 2008 at least. The performance among all years is the biggest draw for me.

Almost looks like the front bumper is completely smooth. There are indentations like those found on the 06-07. Anyone else notice this? Or am I completely wrong?

Think "aero"...
