: Rear LSD
AaronC 06-30-2006, 09:06 AM Has anyone researched getting a Limited Slip Differential for the rear? Since the rear axle is a dana 44 I would expect the options to be pretty wide. This should help keep the truck more stable under high-speed cornering and prevent the dreaded one wheel slip.
AaronC 06-30-2006, 01:15 PM I wonder if the LSD for the Dana 44 3.73 listed here will work:

That's a great point, a LSD would really compliment this suspension well. Let me know if you find anything out, or if you do any experimenting.
jaybruce 07-05-2006, 02:42 PM I asked the same question to my sales agent, they are supposed to send message to factory and see if it's possible to do it as it's built. I know it's not a listed option but it never hurts to ask.

I'm picking up my GCSRT8 tomorrow. Disappointed to hear that these things are not equipped with a rear LSD. Has anyone done any research on if any LSD's are available for this truck? Thanks in advance.
BlackedOut 02-09-2007, 12:06 AM I thought i read somewhere that they are equipped with this?? oh well i never have traction problems so i'm not to worried about. i think they are less necessary with a AWD car but it would still be nice to have one
AlexT 02-09-2007, 04:20 AM It's an electronic brake limited slip.

So it's not a real LSD then?
Does any companies make them for this truck, or can I fit one from a different car in it?

Far from it...I first noticed it when I sprayed a 100 shot right out of the gate the right front and rear are the only ones that spin. I contacted a few companies Auburn, Eaton, and PowerTrax about an application but they didn't have one. I also gave them the tag #'s off the rear and all the info I could find but no help. I hope someone finds one that will work soon I will gladly be the guinea pig.

So I guess the electronic brake limited slip isn't good for much besides sounding high tech...
AlexT 02-10-2007, 08:02 AM Quaife does an LSD for the Charger SRT8, but nothing for the Jeep. Maybe one day...

9900rpm 02-14-2007, 04:55 PM I just talked to a guy that builds differentials for race cars. Does anyone here have the specs of the rears in the GCSRT8? Like splines, ratios, bearing sizes, etc.... Maybe we can work something out and find something that fits.
Bump...
Let's keep this one current. I want this too!

Try removing the pink fuse (eliminates the traction control) and see how the limited slip works...NOT. You will smoke a single front tire and a single rear tire. Not too good. Yes, a true limited slip would be very helpful.

Bill, Clean out our PM's
Razorecko 02-22-2007, 09:01 PM It'd sure be nice if mopar came out w/ a diff. Performance factory parts for the GC is slim to none.
hemicon 02-22-2007, 10:01 PM You might check on the Jeep Rubicon Dana 44 its a air locker or open from the factory.
