: Ported 6.4L Cylinder Heads!
http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab175/PW-Racing/Randon%20Shop%20Pics/Flow.jpg
Rule of thumb is that when everything is setup perfectly, you gain 2hp per 1cfm. This is far from a perfect scenario, but we should have no problem seeing an additional 25rwhp using these ported Apache heads over our ported 6.1 heads. These heads should easily support 750hp NA.
The only loss was at .200". Increased everywhere else. This was ver 1.0 of the apache Intake/Exhaust port. We put allot of effort in the exhaust port in order to increase the exhaust to intake ratio which isnt very good in stock form.
Stock Exhaust/Intake Ratio: 61.7%
Ported Exhaust/Intake Ratio: 65%
KINGMONKEY 04-03-2011, 04:59 PM Andy you get those ready for my 2012 jeep
Adanac Charger 04-03-2011, 05:07 PM Very cool!! Should we be talking about these for my build??????
lol, I can probably get a set for your build if you want them. Right now the first set is spoken for but I think I can get another set of cores if you want them. I "think" they will outperform everything on the market.
Adanac Charger 04-03-2011, 05:56 PM LOL... email sent.
higshemi 04-03-2011, 07:43 PM LOL..... Kent you still building your power plant? Andy, you keep improving your products and poor Kent here won't ever have an engine.
Adanac Charger 04-04-2011, 06:11 AM Just trying to make sure that you never see me in your rear view!... :)
higshemi 04-04-2011, 06:28 AM You have to make it to the track first. ;)
Adanac Charger 04-04-2011, 06:36 AM LOL... You make a good point. :(
.
killerrudy 04-04-2011, 09:47 AM I am looking into a set of 6.4 heads. Are they just ported 6.1's? I saw on another forum they are running 2.13/1.65 correct? I just want to get to 500hp(BHP)
They are drastically different from 6.1's. Completely new castings.
killerrudy 04-04-2011, 10:04 AM Since they are "drastically" different. Am I still allowed to assume that they will bolt on and all passage ways match up?
They should bolt on no problem, but we dont know for sure till we do.

I've got my apache cores on the way so lets find out :D

Can't wait. I am no flow expert, but i found it a little disheartning to see the stock 6.1 heads flow better on the low end. :-/ But I can't wait to see what the ported ones do and hopefully they are something that I want as much as I think I do right now.

I think it was only at one point and I doubt it will be noticeable. These will be going on a stroker motor Andy is building for me so we wont be able to quantify directly how much better they are than the other options but using corrected dyno numbers it should give some what of an idea.

jps043 06-14-2011, 02:28 PM Damn those are some great looking heads your putting out there Andy! And wow 2 hp for every cfm means those will produce 66hp!!! Big numbers man!
bcm0018 06-15-2011, 09:13 AM Cant wait to see it in person!
Finalized numbers posted in post 1
MarioSRT8 06-28-2011, 08:46 PM Very nice Andy.
Let me know pricing details for my build when you have them!
Also, I'm looking into a couple of other things I might be interested as well but we can talk about it later on when everything else is getting ready.
Thanks!
Well verson 1.0 didnt last long. We are now on to version 1.1 on the intake port with improved numbers and velocity. New numbers below and in post 1.

bcm0018 06-30-2011, 06:28 AM I assume I have version 1?
No, the heads were digitized last night and cnc begins today.
nyjoed 08-06-2011, 10:26 PM So they have yet to be tested on a stock 6.1?
Sent from my Autoguide iPhone app
Correct. Will be tested next week.
retro-king 08-06-2011, 10:43 PM Nice work here. Curious if the flow numbers were with a horn and pipe? I think I may have to try a set of Apache's out myself. Looking good man. I'd like to see some results...
No attachment. The idea was only to compare before and after and not just post a big number. You will lose compression bolting these on btw.
retro-king 08-06-2011, 11:02 PM Yeah that's the way mine were flowed too, but obviously no use in comparing for obvious reasons. Superflow? Which one? What's the stock chamber size on these btw? Do they seem to have a lot of deck? I can fix the compression issue! :)
75cc. Mill them a little and your good.
J&D's SRT's 08-07-2011, 04:18 PM Those are SEXY.
Jim
nyjoed 08-07-2011, 05:58 PM there soo clean

Mine are decked a little bit :D
nyjoed 08-17-2011, 06:29 PM have these been tried on a 6.1 yet?
Going on a chally tomorrow.
turbo_neon 09-14-2011, 09:39 PM How did that chally turn out?
Went 11.06 with a converter not locking up. Very close to 10s.

Now officially in the 10's and with the converter locking up again, we are seeing 3 more mph.
