And I am #4. This is good news! However sooner than I expected, which isn't bad per say, but I just need to get to sell some more homes for that big down payment I has planning on.

Plus, I am not expecting to have the jeep this early anyways...it will take some time to ship it, and there will probably be production delays... either way, I am jacked!!!

Im not blaming you Don Im blaming Chrysler as a whole. The BMW M3 is coming with a V8 engine and 420 HP. I am seriously considering getting that instead of the Jeep SRT8 simply because you dont get alot of options here in the middle east for the SRT8. :(

Silver or Black

Small 245 tires on both front and back with same size smaller wheels and NO CHROME!  GOD knows why they did that!!

and for a HUGE markup at $57,000.

If I get one from the States I would get no warranty which sucks. I love the Jeep but they havent come out with any pics of the 2008 and I heard a rumour that they MIGHT give the export models with bigger tires and rims this time but still we have no confirmation.

I'd rather spend money on a dealership who appreciates my business.

Its just painted silver. Yes on the export models.

TOTALLY DIFFERENT PRODUCT as advertised.

They even gave me a brochure with the Jeep in Black with big tires and rims but the final product just looks embarrasing with those thin tires and small wheels.

I know. I didnt word that right im so frustrated. SRT went with UK standards and the jeeps are made in austria for the export models. Don can you please find out why they put the smaller tires and rims for export models?

I pmed the SRT division weeks ago and they havent replied. I need a proper answer as to why I should spend another 10 grand just to make it look decent..:o

Do you have aftermarket warranty companies out there? Check an see if there is a company near you that could inspect your new vehicle an put a warranty on it. Then just get a US model, have it shipped, put the warranty on it there, an still save yourself at least $7000. Thats what I would do.

westsidestrangla
06-28-2007, 01:30 PM
I am not sure about warranty service but you can get a service contract which makes sure that all your fluids are ok and that your jeep is running smoothly. Basically if they find something wrong with it on the prepaid checkup then you would have to pay for that to get it fixed.

And its expensive. If I am paying that much money it is better to stay on the safe side and receive the dealership warranty. With so many people on here complaining about brake squeels, shift hesitations, and trans leaks, I am not taking that risk.

And I thought real hard about your offer but I simply cannot take a chance just to save a few grands. Thanks for replying though I appreciate your concern.:) Wish they had your kind of customer service here in the m. east.

Talk about a thread hi-jack......

Just buy the M3 then. Who cares? You live in the middle east.....by choice? Hopefully not.

No one asked you to order one. The people that have already ordered know they will be getting a discount of $500 under invoice. They also know what kind of vehicle they will be getting so the price difference between the 07 and 08 is not a big deal to them.

And thank you for being the thread police by the way. I care about his problem getting the right jeep out there.

You have a nice day:D

Aren't you glad that you have the luxury of waiting til you know the price to order one. Me, I don't really care. As Don has mentioned, I know I will be getting it at $500 under invoice as well as FANTASTIC customer service to boot. I am gonna buy regardless of price. So that's why myself and some others decided to be "foolish".

easy guys... just a fun thread..
as for the pricing, Ill know the invoice before I actually buy it. It couldnt be much more than a 2007 (b/c of the HID's and a couple other items) besides I was between this and a 2006 H1 alpha, so the way I see it, Im saving about $60k.

Truthfully, Jeep doesn't owe you anything yet.

The 2008s aren't for sale yet. They will be soon. Those of us that are sure we want one are sure it will be fine. A little change in price, a little darker interior, and perhaps a nicer dash... or perhaps just a different dash. We're fine with it.

And it's fine that you're not. Part of the fun in getting one of the first 2008s is nobody has seen it yet. Sure, we've seen most of it... but not all of it. You seem to be eager to see one yourself. That's fine.

Please understand that you are looking at a very unique vehicle. Perhaps that's part of why you like it. However, if Jeep might only sell a dozen of them in your entire country, perhaps you would be better served to listen to the man that's likely already sold a dozen 2008's.

If you'd like to be helped, I think he'd like to help you. If you aren't interested in help, please go away... as the man just above said, "We're all hear for fun".

A Dodge Viper is a "unique" vehicle too.....I know what I would be getting with that car too, but am I about to drop $100k? Nope.

And for someone who tried his best to help me out regarding my situation (championjeep) that hat turned around real quick, didn't it?

Really not good for sales to lash out at potential customers, just a word of advice, Don.

Anything further, take it to PM, champ. This thread is polluted enough.

Where did anyone lash out at you?

And why continue the pollution then tell someone else to PM you so as not to further pollute, Sport?

As far as pricing goes, I am sure if for some strange reason the GCSRT8 jumps $10k in price over what the 07s were, it will be more than understandable that some people who have ordered will back out. And nobody would blame them. But for me (and others obviously), I have an idea of what these vehicles will cost. I feel like they will be in line with what 07s were running with applicable increases for the new options available. That being the most probable case, I see no problem ordering without knowing exact pricing.

But as already mentioned, if this method of purchase is not for you, nobody ever said YOU had to. So enjoy your "logic" and leave us "flawed" people to our enjoyment. If this basic concept is too vague for you to understand, let me know & I am sure I can put it on a level you will have no problem grasping. :)

Why don't you try to put it on a level that is more understandable to me, then?

The internet presents too easy of an opportunity to be a tough guy.

If you look at my post, I asked a simple question regarding how people are ordering without a price. In fact, some actually agreed with my question.....

Go back and read the thread. Loser.

I believe you were the one who initially went the e-badass route. So before you suggest someone go read a thread again, take your own advice. Calling someone "Champ" and a generally pissy attitude altogether is what initially started the Southward direction of this thread. My apologies if you took my calling you Sport or offering to get more direct in my suggestion to you as me being some sort of tough guy. I was simply trying to politely ask that you settle down and stop coming off as an ass.

If you feel I was lashing out at you thats something I cant control.

As for my customers and potential customers........let me tell you something about them. They are probably the greatest group of people I have ever come across! Always willing to help out when another member here has a problem, and if they arent able and or capable of helping out they are very polite about what they do have to say. So when I am trying to do the same and help someone out, the last thing I want to see is someone not involved chiming in with "who cares". So if thats the kind of person you really are, then I can live without your advice.

No I still didnt buy an M3. The E92 2008 it has not been released yet.

I just need some sort of confirmation from the SRT team (they frequent here alot) that the 2008 export models will definately have the bigger tires and chrome rims because it has been posted in the WK rumours section.

If they cannot confirm that anytime soon then I might put my name down for an 08 M3. That is all. Have a nice day.

If you got it before the end of July. Chrysler is really stepping up the quality. As with every new year launch some problems arise and delays are expected. Of course they add more torque checkers and inspectors to make sure you vehicle is all good. Mine was ready to ship in the first week of December and my dealer didn't get it till Jan 4 and I live 10 minutes from Detroit where they are made....

We just started then new RT minivan, has the 4.0 litre and the swivel seats, but they aren't expected to be shipped to dealers till September...

Since the minivan is Chryslers bread and butter, this new model is the most important launch in Chrysler's history. And it's all about QUALITY....

I called today. mine was supposed to ship tomorrow but it has been in "F" status for 2 weeks (paint). Its been there for about a week and a half so there are delays. Unless they are doing one HELL of a nice paint job. Im not optimistic on it being ready to ship although they said it will go through finishing by the end of the week.
