I have been looking for a vehicle to replace the Super Bee that I sold a month ago.
Last week when I was in Italy I saw the SMART car, which is under the Mercedes umbrella. After a little research when I got back, I discovered it will be introduced to the USA in early 08, and for $99 you can reserve one....so I sent in my $99.
You can check them out at Smartusa.com.

smart car is already available in the US. I have seen a few where I live and they have been at the Denver auto show the last 2 years. Unless you're specifically talking about the 08... they are already here.

Really? I have never seen one here...I know they are still under going EPA testing....the ones you saw may be gray cars....If you go to their Web site you will see what I am trying to say. Regardless, they already have reservations in for over 20,000 of them here. I am sure my kids and neighbors will have on hell of a laugh when they see it. If it breaks down, I can always pick it up and put it in my backback and carry it to the dealer.

Ugghh... I would take a Mini or GTI over a Smart car ANY day. There is nothing special about the Smart cars, other than the fact that they are rediculous looking.
They've been for sale in Washington for several months now. Still not legal in all 50 states (for sale).

there are videos of SMARTS on youtube with Suzuki Hayabusa motors doing absolutely nasty things. Will wipe any car on the street.
