Love my SRT8...love it.

BUT...I have a few small issues that maybe you guys can help with.

1. Brake squeel...TSB, right? Do they have to keep the car or can they do it while I wait?

2. When I take some corners...it feels like the drivetrain disengages a bit. Might be the traction control...but I've had that in all my other cars and this seems different.

3. Transmission seems a bit sluggish - engagement a bit off...TSB for that or?

4. Changed the oil to 15w/50 full synthetic...ok for city driving and 3k oil changes?

5. The only other thing is 7.2 mpg - and i'm not driving hard at all. I dont' really care that much...but others seem to be doing higher.

Other than that this rig rocks!

That 7.2 seems really low. How many miles are you getting per tank? Maybe something is up with your computer. I usually get no worse than 11 but no higher than 13 and about 220 miles between fill ups. Not much highway driving for me.

2. I never heard of this, you may want to have your dealer check it out.
3. If this is when you first put it in gear, you may have a fluid leak. If it's the shifting, then it's the electronics saving the drivetrain.
5. I get 14.5mpg avg. your 7.2mpg is odd, unless you're able to run WOT most of the time. :D

Good luck.

Depends on the dealership and if they have the parts in stock. You'll have to see your dealer for this.

2. When I take some corners...it feels like the drivetrain disengages a bit. Might be the traction control...but I've had that in all my other cars and this seems different.

Were these other "cars" 4700lb. SUVs? It's most likely the traction control system manipulating the ABS that you're feeling. Bwoody makes upgraded Sway Bar Links that pretty much ELIMINATE this!! They are incredible, you have to try them to believe it.

3. Transmission seems a bit sluggish - engagement a bit off...TSB for that or?

There is a TCM update, but I'm not sure if it addresses what you describe as sluggish? the 1 to 2 shift? The TSB makes this worse. B&G Stage II helps with the torque management which almost eliminates that hesitation.

4. Changed the oil to 15w/50 full synthetic...ok for city driving and 3k oil changes?

In the warmer/hotter climates many members have reported great things about this. In a previous chat session, the SRT Engineers even commented that some dealerships in hot climate areas do this automatically during the summer months.
:)

Love that WOT!! haha. If it's a fresh, new sled then this is normal. It will go up. If this is a broken in sled....then you have one heck of a lead foot!!

Thanks for all the info.

It had 2700 miles on it when i bought it...so i think it was broken in. I'm not using a LEAD foot at all..in fact quite the opposite. I'll schedule an appointment at the dealer this week to address the MPG (about 120 per tank after 4 fill ups) and the 1 to 2 gear tansmission thing.

I do 98% city driving...

My other car was a Volvo S60R...and it got average 12 around town. 28 on the highway at 80 mph tho.

Who cares...this is so much more fun.

BUT... I got my first pull over by cops this morning for tinted windows and no front plate. A fix it ticket so no biggie...and they had TONS of questions...idiots. After they wrote the tickets they wanted to chat. I politely said if they wanted to chat...they shouldn't have written the ticket. But since they did, I suggested the visit the closest dealer for info.

heh heh :P)
