I GOT A WOODY...FOR BWOODY!!!

Ok I couldn't resist, I'm sorry... :p :p

I never imagined these 4 little unassuming pipes would make such a drastic difference in the ride/handling of our trucks. But by gosh....they've done it.
:D

***WARNING*** While test driving after installing these...make sure you practice the "evasive lane change" manuever in a safe area...preferebly on a wide street...with no poles nearby....and with an empty truck. I did this on the back road near my house with some paintball gear, my track helmet, and some school stuff in the back seat. I swung the truck to the left, then right, and stuff flew ALL over the inside of my truck. It stayed so flat, so controlled...my Dad and I looked at eachother and said "Holy sh*t!"

LOL It's GLUED to the ground. Feels like a new truck.

If you were a skilled enough driver, you could almost drift this truck through turns.

Notice the seperation at the top, I hope that's normal? Maybe Greg or someone from Bwoody can verify this?

View from outside the vehicle! Cool that you can see them with the wheel cranked to the side. :)

Hey Mango, did you do a back to back with your Dad's? It definitely felt tighter when doing the back and forth but I only have my truck to compare to. Flooring it around corners was smoother also.

I'm very lucky where I live. I have my own testing facility (seems like it).

I'll get pics tomorrow outside. I have a beautiful new "S" curve, fresh blacktop as it's only 2 years old, then it pans out into a 1/2 mile straight away that goes slightly downhill, into a sweeping right hand turn. Believe me, I can fully test suspension components on this "track" of sorts.

I scare people in my GTI when I go full throttle around the turns. Back to back comparisons go like this:

Dads stock setup: S curve at 40mph feels alright, 45 a no-no, back end feels squirrly, front not very stable.

BWoody setup: S curve at 50 EASY, truck is FLAT throughout, at the top of the curve I can apply MORE throttle, feels as though I'm drifting out of the turn, I come out of the hole at the top of the turn at 55mph.

Take that for what you will, I'm not BSing you. Anyone in South Jersey please come drive this course with me and you will see.

this is a non-binding design the swaybar links must still remain functional and free floating, without that it would ride like a tank.

These things sound like the real deal. Nice to hear another opinion from an "unbiased" paying member.

...you did pay for the links didn't you Mango? Don't want to think this is some endorsement deal going on.;)

Thanks for the thread.

Of course I paid for them, just like everyone else! Worth EVERY penny!

I'm just happy to endorse a product from REAL enthusiasts that really WORKS!

Just looking out for everyone else, so they know what works and what does not. :)

I am thinking of getting a set of these but would like to know if the rear ones are visible with the wheels on and the jeep sitting of the ground. Would a car behind you notice them when driving?

I would say no. To see the fronts you have to turn the wheel all the way to see them. The rear ones you can barely see. Need to look through driver's side wheel.

Maybe you can see the back ones better when your rolling at a decent clip. (Through the rim spokes. )

I want these on soon.
I got jack stands last night, and I forgot I needed to get a touque wrench. Arghhh!

I've bought more F-In tools for this Jeep then I've ever bought for all my previous cars together over the last 20 years!!!:D :D

T....you aren't done yet either!
BTW, don't let the axles hang free and try to remove the bolts, jack it up a little and the bolts fall out.

The backs you have to take the wheels off and for the fronts you can squeeze in without taking the wheel off even though I think it would make it a little easier if you take them off.

Do these affect the ride in any way ? I do mostly city and highway so I would not mind getting better handling as long as it does not compromise the ride.
I'm more of a straight line type, does it make it hook better at the strip?

After the install, I did NOT notice any change in the ride characteristics.
It may however feel a little less roll in the corners.
I'm with you on the straight line stuff....I don't think you would see any difference, although they do look great (from under the JGC).

Damn, this is gonna be a slight problem for me, because the dealership that sold me my Jeep is out of state, and they did not include the wheel lock key. Wanted to do these tonight.

Anyway to do it with the wheels on, or definitely not?

Mango said this:

I also had quite a gap (1/4") at the top of the passenger rear (between the plate and the link bushing). This probably varies a little bit with the build of each truck.

I know they said not to worry about it, but I just added a metal bushing (about 3/16") and put the washer on the inside. The result looks great!

torque specs are on the instructions, you will need to remove the rear tires, fronts you can leave the tires on , less than a 1 hour install.
