First of Howdy to everyone.
I have been lurking on the board for a short time and went to test drive an SRT-8 yesterday. I loved it, however....
I drive about 40,000 miles a year all over Texas. I have yet to see anyone who drives this much in a GCSRT-8. Think it can withstand that kind of abuse for 2-3 years? I would probably sell it before I reached the 100k mark but I am hoping for something with a decent resale value. I usually take a 3-4 year note and make out just even. SO what do you guys think?????

If you are driving that much get something with better gas mileage...lol. The Jeep is a badass suv but there is a point when its just not practical.

While I love the hell out of my Jeep, this man is right. With an average of 14mpg @ $3.09/gal, you'd be spending nearly $9k/yr in gas driving 40k miles.

besides that, then it should hold it value much better than any regular SUV due to limited production and desirability. Unless of course gas goes to $10 a gallon....

I've got the corporate card as well, :D , but if you are going to do a lot of long distance driving it seems like there might be better rides out there(did I just say that?). Cruising straight(literally) down I-5 in CA at 95mph would be nice, but since the ride is a bit stiff . . . aw, hell . . . I f'n love my black GCSRT8 . . . BUY IT!!! These things make you think crazy, GO FOR IT.

IMO Jeep isn't a practical vehicle at all. I only have one becuase I have 2 other vehicles that I depend on for more specific applications.
If i wanted something cool that would stand up to the abuse of lots of miles I'd get a used Cyanne-S with about 15K miles on it for a heck of a deal. The interior fit-and-finish, and ride quality, is superior to the jeep.
just my opinion for your specific application, others will disagree.
