Every single one of those cars had stolen parts that those kids swore they paid for legitimately. I'm sure they were driving like idiots as well. Good riddance.

And the up side is in all your memories your car was way faster than it really was - oh the happy smiles you'll have remembering while making use of public transit.

Seriously... all those cars are junk!!! Those kids are fools. I spent 10,000 on it. LOL. I used to street race with my 03 cobra 620whp and thoughs are the type of kids you hate. When they bring out there 18second junk, and rip all around like a bunch of idiots, and there nasty sounding exhaust. Half the time they get a race busted, because you'll go somewhere with 1 other group of people, and ALL of them follow you around and there obnoxious driving always brings the cops.

Honestly i can understand some kids dont have money or everyone has a different living situation. But how do half these people think to spend money on junk or after the fact they think its fast? Are jeeps are quick but nothing to go out and street race with, all my buddys that street race have AT least a low 10second car, but most are easy low 9s on the street. You bring anything else out and your gonna get your nuts straight clipped off, and your wig split. These are the kids that want to race for 20 dollars or 'for fun' its like okay im gonna go prep the road, burn my tires, go 130+ on the street, for fun. These people are a joke, and say crush them!!

Also that must suck to live in california, but im sure they only pick on the ones that drive like idiots, and if you got anything fast your gonna be a on trailer anywayz.

Wait... I want to make sure I understand what you are saying.

Most of your buddys have EASY low 9 second cars on the street?

You must mean they are low 9 second cars at the track and they drive them on the street, and prob street racing starting from like 70mph+...

Since you said "but most are easy low 9s on the street", sounds like you mean they can hit low 9's in the street. Even on the strip a low 9 second street car is not common.

There is an insane amount of gorgeous and exotic cars around me in SoCal everyday, but I would not say low 9 second cars. Most of those cars ride on trailers to the track?

i dont know where you live man, but yes on the street and yes from a dead stop. We light most of the road on fire. Most guys rip the wheels to your waste, inless of course hes got some nice turbos. but yes 9s on the street. i dont know how that is so hard to believe, i guess we live in different areas, and 70mph rolls lol

alot are on trailers to the race spot, some guys cruise them. depending of course and the setup that have, most transmissions wont let them cruise far...

That's exactly right. Easy low 9 second cars is prob about a 900+whp car with huge slicks. And to say "easy" one can assume they are also some high 8's in that group. Last cars I saw going that fast was at Borona, gutted cars and some with wheelie bars.

Here's a few pics I took of some cars that were in the low 9 high 8 category estimated from their 1/8th time.

Obviously im not talking about mine on these pics.

I raced this guy and he crossed the traps whewn I was barley about 1/2 way... lol. He turned a 5.37 1/8th.

Ya a lot of my friends cruise there cars though, even if they have slicks, i mean thats not a big deal, almost every car around us has a 26inch slick on it. I guess its just different areas you live in. You def. dont need 900+whp to go 9s thats for sure!!! you just have to have the right setup. For instance my car was a low 11 second car and guys would spot me out 10 cars, give me the hit, and pass me before the 1/8th mile. and thats on the street. Some guys mph 160+ not to mention stock brand new R1s dont even stand a chance with a good rider. You got to at least have a bike slammed with a big shot on it.

Yeah but theres a HUGE difference from a low 11 sec car to a low 9!!! Jim Fitz I think has the record right now on his stang on a 2v motor with the new 2.8L KB at about... mmmm... I think maybe close to 900whp and hes turning a 9.41. Supras are usually about 800+whp to get into a solid 9.

Thats a cool vid.

But yeah its all in the power to weight ration and of course traction.

Ya a lot of guys either have trans am, grand national, or some crazy ass dsm with a huge turbo. fox bodys with big turbos are very commin too, or vets twin turbo. My buddy has a twin turbo vet that runs 9.2s and he daily drives it to work on 93 oct. I know guys with fox bodies running high 9s with 500whp

I drove a 93' the week they first came out... I had a 89' RX7 GTU and pretended like I wanted to trade it in... Fell in love with that RX7, felt like a go-kart... Those cars with just a simple LS1 conversion are like high 10 sec cars, TT LS7 would be wicked.

Your friend has one with a LS7?

One of the few cars that can make a heavily modded Supra eat dust.
