: Follow Up On Shift Hesitation...

Ok so it's another hot and humid night here in Miami. I decide to do a few 0-60 runs because on the street, you usually don't tell the guy next to you to wait till your jeep cools down ;) , besides...I wanted to check to see if the shift hesitation I got in the rain the other day was there.

So I go to my "testing road" and set the dashhawk. It's about 86 degress and my IAT was at 104 or so. ECT was 205...I power braked to 1500rpm and let her rip! ...60mph came in 4.4 sec w no shift hesitation in D mode. (Not my best but not bad for a pretty hot and warmed up truck)

Next I decided to try in "slap stick mode" So I launched at 1300rpm and let my 07 shift for it's self....luckily it did! I ran a 4.41, no hesitation either. BY this time the ECT was about 215 and climbing so I shut it down and went home.

Overall pretty happy with the times due to the heat and the fact that the truck had been running - not cooling down when I ran it. Best part- no damn shift hesitation! Guess my truck doesn't like the rain for performance testing...lol. Another good thing was that I verifed my truck does shift itself in "slapstick mode" so there's no chance of hitting the rev limiter.

Just thought I'd share the wealth

When you start the upgrades, you will probably eventually experience the hesitation. What will happen is the truck will reach max revs quicker (due to upgrades), so it will bounce off the rev limiter before it can shift...

What up Bill....
It looked like around 6100rpm or so when it shifted, I was too busy looking at the road but I should have the data on the dashhawk....If they would only make it Vista compatible then maybe I could tell you  I'm so pissed about that. All new computers come with Vista preloaded pretty much and I can't run jack Sh*t on it.

Forgive me Godfather, I'm not much of a computer brain....is that like running both versions of windows at the same time?

basically you can load both versions XP and vista on 1 comp. It will ask you at start up which OS you want to boot.

Dual Booting is very easy to set up if you need to. You need to partition your hard drive, so you essentially create two hard drives in one.

You can also use a boot loader program to do this, or just use Vista's pre-built version.

Run it in Compatability Mode. Right click on the .exe and choose XP SP2.

Instead of screwing with your partition, you may want to look at running a virtual pc inside Vista and load XP on that. Check out VMWare www.vmware.com or Microsoft Virtual PC http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/winfamily/virtualpc/default.mspx.
