I am looking for a cam, i am an everyday drive and need something that will be reliable and add more performance. Any ideas or suggestions.

And would i also have to get heads or what??

And what about warranty??

Warranty? Wave bye bye to it after the cam, to get the full benefit of the cam you need to do heads also.

Call COMP CAMS and see if they have a custom grind for the 6.1 Hemi, if they don't, then they'll usually make one for you. Great company IMO.

I run the heads and Comp 273 cam in my SRT-8 Charger, with the B&G tune and Idle set to 800 it idles like a champ, never stalls and no codes from the cam. Put down 451 rwhp N/A and 548 on a 125 shot. (up from 359 rwhp stock)

If I was to get cams and heads ide go with Dynamic, great product.

Wow, 100 N/A horsepower gain from heads and cam. And you only have a B&G tune.... does the stock PCM do a good job at keeping the A/F ratio in limits throughout the RPM range? What kind of mileage are you getting? Got any sound-bites of the exhaust note? Pretty aggressive-sounding CAM.

My ultimate goal is Solid MID-11's with a supercharger, sounds like the Head/Cam mod would be well worth my time. Are you getting 11's with the 125 shot?

The A/f with the B&G is 12.1 to 12.6 at WOT, I have a AEM Wideband band o2 in each bank.

My Gas Mileage went UP (got better!) on the highway after the heads/cam by nearly 2 mpg at 85mph. Around town it went down a bit, but I floor it allot:) so that was expected. When at WOT you are making more HP so you are using more fuel.

My car on the stock 20" tires ran 12.3@120 mph on the NOS with no traction what’s so ever (2.1x 60ft). And that’s up here at the Roswell track that’s at 3700ft and in 100deg heat. (2 full seconds and 19mph faster then stock up here). Thats with turning on the NOS after the car shifts into 2nd gear, using it in 1st nearly put me into the wall.

451rw N/A through that auto and heavy ass wheels/tires is nothing to sneeze at, nice work Matt.

I'm interested in the Heads/Cam Mod from DR, but the install is a little beyond my level... unless it came with some sort of DIY video installation guide.

How much should I expect a good shop to charge me for the install?

You should also consider HHP in Delaware, they have a good setup, check out their website. HIGHHORSEPERFORMANCE.COM
I'll have before and after dyno and track #s for erveryone after I get 1000 miles on it. I'll be using a mustang AWD dyno.

We charge 15 hrs for a head AND cam install on a 6.1L.

These cars/jeeps in the world of doing heads/cam jobs on late modal cars are easier then most. A car like a F-body is a much harder install then these cars, and I bet now days there are more F-body’s out there WITH heads/cam then with out. lol

The shops around me typically charge $50-75 an hour.

Sounds like I need to learn how to do a head/cam install on my own.

i am looking to do a possible heads/cam set up, but i want a very aggressive cam so that at idle it sounds as if the car is barly running. what are my options and what trouble will i have ECU wise. I have a stock 07 SRT8 and am porbally paring the heads/cam with the corsa system.

You should NEVER pick a cam based on the lope you want. All you're doing is trading optimal and avg hp/tq, drivability, and valvetrain reliability for something that sounds mean but ends up being a total dog.
Also remember that we're currently TCM limited when it comes to shift points, so you won't see the advantages of a larger cam until we can tinker with it.
