: How much should I list my Jeep for?

After five great years with the Jeep, it's time to part ways.

I bought the Jeep new and it's never been wrecked. It currently has 120K miles due to extensive work-related highway travel from the first four years of ownership.

As for modifications, the Jeep has less than 5K miles on the Paramount transmission, Billet Strator torque converter, billet flywheel, etc., and under 2K miles on the LPM 426. It also has Kooks headers, Ported/Polished heads and manifold, Big custom cam, 85mm TB, and Nitto's.

I almost forgot to mention, I also have the '08+ conversion with projectors, Kicker system (minus sub), MyGig, and Medic Hood, but I doubt I'll get anything for them. :)

The Jeep runs well, so my decision to sell is motivated completely by other factors.

I plan on posting it on ebay, but I can't make up my mind on the reserve price. How much would you ask for it if it was your Jeep?

Well to you the jeep is worth way more then people are gonna pay just because of the miles.....Sucks to hear your gonna part with it but gotta do what u gotta do. If you find the right buyer even with that many miles i would say 19-21k maybe. You know as well as i know you dont get all your money back for your mods. but I would say right around that price to the RIGHT buyer that KNOWS what they are looking at. Ive seen 08s with 65k on them going for $32k still....the value and price is still up on these jeeps.

^^ Man sucks that you have to part ways with it, especially with those mods.... They are the dream of most srt owners. The worst part about selling it is you'll never get out what you put in. But your mind is made up, but it depends on how long your willing to hold onto it. If your willing to hang on a little i wouldn't take less than 24,000. It just sucks that its gonna go that low with those mods, most people won't know whats in the beast, but the buyer will be surprised :D.... Good luck with the sale.

Wow, I'm surprised to see you parting ways with it.

Good luck with the sale Ant.

IMO i no its got a lot of miles but with the low mileage on the drivetrain and motor i would say 30/35,000. This is a hard thing to put a price on because of the new stuff. It will be the right car for somebody. THE KELLY BLUE BOOK SAY WITH 120,000 MILES ON IT LISTED AS TRADE IN VALUE ITS AT $20,000 but thats with stock srt8 stuff and yours is all diff.

Sorry to see you sell your beast, I maybe doing the same. Did your 426 come with a warranty. If so that may boost the resell price up a bit.

Sorry to hear that you've decided to part ways with your Jeep, Ant. So is this your first step at posturing yourself for a 2012 SRT8 WK2? IMO, whoever ends up buying your rig will end up with an excellent bargain, considering the unfortunate reality that the overall mileage will probably drive the price down a bit, and not factor what little miles you've logged on the 426, tranny, etc.... not to mention all the other work you've done to it.

In any case, good luck with the 'sail'! :)

I'd def say Mid-high 20's.

It is well-maintained and those mods aren't cheap!

I agree , funny how some votes 25k under with a 426 + NAG1 .

To get over mid-20's you'll have to find a buyer that knows what it is all about. The mileage and year is really going to hurt you. Especially with guys unloading their '09-'10s for mid-30s. I got around $21k last year for my stock '07 with 86k miles and a fresh motor and transmission and remaining warranty.

Sorry to see it go Ant. What are you going to replace it with? If I were in your shoes I would part it out considering you will definitely be able to put more cash back in your pocket than selling it complete.

First of all, thanks for all the comments and votes. I know very well that there is very rarely a ROI with modifications, but that does't mean the seller shouldn't at least attempt to recover a portion of what's been invested.

I'll probably remove the gauges, pod, TCM, Nitto's, and maybe even look into selling the hood before listing. These items probably won't be missed by the new owner and should be fairly easy to sell. I might just install the wideband and EGT in my Passat to make sure it's running properly.

i say list it at $30k, you know what you want to get out of it but you don't want to short change what you could get out of it. if it doesn't sell, its a sign you should keep it! :D

I think you would recoupe more money by parting out the mods and return it to stock form. I know it is a lot of work, but it will certainly pay off a t the end.

Good luck!

Find somebody to rollback the miles and you'll be good to go

I would part that sucker out like someone said above and sell it stock or trade it in. It's sad but you will most likely not get you money back if you try to sell with all your mods. I know how much blood sweat and tears you have in that thing it's a shame you are selling it so soon after doing all that work. Seems like you finally got it where you want. If I kept my '08 and did not buy this new CTS-V I would be one to consider swapping my engine/tranny with yours + cash. That my be your best route. Good luck!

I agree with WebDiligence. I'd try to swap engines and transmissions (+cash) with a forum member local to you, then sell it as near stock...

Anthony I did not even seen your SIG where you have your eye on a V2 CTS-V. Funny how I just picked an '09 up Tuesday. Guess when you find one we can meet at the track here in GA again and have another duel! ;):D

Yeah, lemme know... we'll meet halfway and line up a mechanic in Little Rock, and do a swap-eroo. I'm interested in all your drivetrain mods! :pinklove:
